What is it, please?
We’ve found that under 1.5 MB usually works for the cover.
Thank you. Is there any possible chance of the file size being bumped up?
We actually have it set to unlimited, so we think it’s either that uploader or the addon itself that is cutting it off.
I don't assume to know diddly squat about the coding to this forum. However, speaking from my own experience as someone who's used many different forums since 1999, perhaps it might be something with the coding? Not simply the add-on, but in the actual CSS, or something like that? If you or any of the other staff know coding, maybe it's something to look into? Sorry if this is coming across as pushy. I've just been getting very frustrated at needing to keep resizing images in hopes it'll fit in the cover.
We can definitely look into it.
Thank you for your reply, it's much appreciated.
Actually, 1.12 MiB to 2.24 MiB works. Anything higher 2.53 or 3.12 doesn't.
I also inquired about the profile covers not too long ago. File size is great, but I would also recommend taking a glimpse at both the resolution/pixel dimensions of your image. This may be helpful so your file size isn't too big, or to small, (the latter might make it look super pixelated).
Anyway, the ideal size is *I think* 1000 x 350 @Dalliance am I remembering this correctly? (I also go for a resolution of 150 dpi or so, but with some finesse 72 dpi may also work if the file size is becoming an issue).
This may or may not be helpful, but thought I would share anyway!
Usually 1000x300 or so will definitely work. It does auto-resize images, so most images will work but it can distort smaller images. I think the banner on my profile is 1200x300, for reference.
Gifs tend to be larger files because they have multiple layers, but they definitely will work as well for the cover. ^.^
