    @ScourgeOfSantaPrisca @Teneo Lupum @Aerilik @Kincade @Villains @KingsBounty ... and more to come?

So here’s the OOC for our Arkham Group rp. I think first, it’s a solid idea to write up a character sheet for your character, and extra points if you do it in the form of an Arkham Asylum file! That’ll be fun, right? Sure.

Don’t feel beholden to any particular DC canon. This is going to be our own multiverse so feel free to cherrypick and mold your own version of your lad or lassie.

Once those are up we can start tossing around some story ideas and such!

The Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane

Located on a sprawling wooded island in Gotham Harbor, Arkham Asylum is perhaps America's leading containment and treatment facility for what are commonly referred to as "Super-criminals" as well as those more mundane sufferers of violent mental illness. Establshed in 1921 by Amadeus Arkham, it has served the Gotham community for almost 100 years.

Of course, there's a great deal about Arkham Asylum that doesn't get shown on the pamphlets. Like the fact it was laid out according to strange occult and numeric principles. That a majority of it's administrators have gone completely insane, and more than a small percentage of them have died in the very cells they once oversaw.

And the bodies... so many bodies.

Arkham is, physically, essentially two different facilities smashed together. The first, the original Arkham Manor, was transformed from a mansion by Amadeus Arkham into a mental Asylum and named after his mother... who he may have murdered. As the needs of the hospital and it's patients grew, however, the converted mansion proved to be insufficient, and in the 1960s, a modern medical facility was built around and connecting to the original mansion, which was converted into a welcome center and administration building. It also contains the living quarters for the administrator, should they chose to use these apartments instead of living off the island.

As the types of patients Arkham treats is vast and varied, the hospital itself had to be so as well. Specialized cells, designed by metahuman engineers and funded by the Wayne Foundation, have been installed to contain some of the greater threats presented by Arkham inmates. While there certainly are your standard two-bed dormitory-style cells, there are also individual cells designed to contain super-villains and beings one could only describe as monsters.

For the purpose of our rp, Im going to assume that unless otherwise stated, all our "patients" are inmates in the Supermax or Ultramax wings, where the most dangerous and deadly are kept. You're free to conceptualize your own cell (Killer Croc is sometimes shown literally having an entire flooded basement to himself, for instance).

As for common areas where our rps might take place, Arkham Asylum has the following features (this list can be amended if any of you want particular places):

    -Cafeteria
    -Library and Reading Room
-Common Area (couches, tvs, board games)
    -Communal Showers (Separated by gender)
    -Arboretum and Greenhouse
    -Group Therapy Rooms
    -Gymnasium
    -Hospital Yard (for outdoor recreation)

In addition to these, there are less publicly accessible places for us to roleplay in as necessary- therapists office, therapy rooms, medical wards, a mortuary, etc. There are of course medical records rooms, meeting rooms, public relations offices, security and monitoring command centers, etc, but as a rule our patients would not be allowed there. On the other hand, staff members would have access to these areas and can treat them as common/open areas.
Arkham Asylum Daily Inmate Schedule :

    6:00am-8:00am: Wakeup, Breakfast.
    8:00am-10:00am: Individual Therapy Sessions
    10:00am-12:00pm: Patient Free time
    12:00pm-1:00pm: Lunch
    1:00pm-3:00pm: Group Therapy Sessions
    3:00pm-5:00pm: Excercise/Free Time
    5:00pm- 8:00pm: Patient Quiet Hours
    8:00pm: Lights Out

    Who’s Who In Gotham
published in the Gotham Gazette, January 14, 2019

    Name: Dr. Constance Arkham
    Age: 35
Family: Henry and Olivia Arkham, both deceased
Education: Gotham City High School ‘01; Stanford University ‘05; Johns Hopkins University ‘09; Columbia University for psychiatric residency 2009 - 2013; Psychology internship 2013 - 2015

    Background:
I was born and raised in Gotham. I am an only child as my parents were both older when I was born. They were both heavily involved with the Wayne Foundation’s philanthropy regarding Arkham so it’s only natural that I was drawn to this field of work. It seems to be in my blood.

I attended Gotham City High School and graduated as salutatorian in 2001. I then went on to Stanford as a pre-med student where I graduated summa cum laude. For medical school, I attended Johns Hopkins. I completed my psychiatric residency at Columbia and also completed a psychology internship while working on my Ph.D. I think it’s safe to say I enjoy a challenge and keeping myself busy.

What brought you back to Gotham?
The Asylum brought me back. After the unfortunate incidents with Dr. Quinzel and Dr. Strange, the family decided it was best that an Arkham be in charge of the asylum once more. We are intimately connected with the building and its purpose, therefore, we made the suggestion to the Wayne Foundation that one of our family be placed back in the role of hospital administration. Incidentally, a forgotten clause was discovered in Jeremiah Arkham’s will stipulating that a member of the Arkham family member will always be on staff. It only made sense for me to return to Gotham to bring Arkham Asylum back to its former glory.

Arkham has a well-documented history of inmate escapes. How do you intend to address this serious issue?
Obviously, we will be focusing on improving security measures. The people of Gotham are well aware that some of our inmates are quite special. Therefore, we will ensure that our security measures are individualized where appropriate.

Do you intend to rehabilitate the inmates? If yes, then how?
Just as with our security measures, we will focus on ensuring each inmate receives a therapy plan best suited for their needs. We intend to rehabilitate our patients with the intention of reintroducing them to Gotham as productive members of society. We do recognize that in some cases, this may not be possible and we do have plans in place to accommodate for our patients who are simply deemed too dangerous for release.

Are you at all concerned about Arkham’s gruesome history?
If you’re referring to Amadeus or Elizabeth or Jeremiah’s mental illnesses, no, I am not concerned at all. Their crimes were particularly shocking but that was in the past, just the same as what happened to Constance and Harriet. We can learn from the past but we must not let it affect our future. I intend to usher Arkham Asylum into a new era.

    Age: 27
    Gender: Female
Occupation: Therapist … counselor at Gotham’s Arkham

“Please have a seat. I’ll take that there you have.”
“Oh right, Here you go...all is there. Certificates. Background checks...my own psych evaluation. Haha. I can tell you I'm quite sane.”
“Right...we’ll..Let’s take a look. You have an interest in our position.”
“Oh I most certainly do! I think a friend to help the troubled in Arkham is just what is needed. A friendly face. A nice voice...someone who can understand.”
“We aren’t here to make friends...Miss. Liddel.”
“Oh most certainly not. But! I think if the patients can feel like they can trust whose helping them. That might be just the cure to help them more on a stable road.”

‘Your walking a fine line on the stable road’ The light whisper graced the blondes hear and she casually reached up brushing her hair over her shoulder, swatting the whispering voice with the wide grin. “That’s enough.” A sharp whisper.
    “Excuse me?”
“Oh! That’s enough of about that! Please take a look at my resume.” She beamed a shining smile of pearly teeth. Paper’s were flipped, attached certificates as a lovely smell wafted, the man’s eyes fluttered a light sneeze and he had the glassiest look over his eyes. “Why you do seem ready for the job.” He beamed nodding.

“This?” He held up a picture.
Miss. Liddel let out a bit of a squeal, reaching forward. “Oh that! My friend must have slipped it in as a joke!

    “Miss Lid-”
    “Do keep looking!”

He continued to flip only to waft the scent from the pages.

Just a spritz on the pages will do the trick. Don’t over do it, otherwise you’ll never get out of that room with your clothes on. Just the other day the red haired goddess handed over a special perfume for Alice. She had to get the job. She didn’t feel right without the madness close.

‘Tick Tock. Tick Tock. Your going to miss your tea time today.’
Alice did her best not to look up as she watched her file was closed. A pleased smile on the man’s face.

“Welcome to Arkham! When can you start?” He had stood, held out his hand and Alice smiled widely, taking his hand with a shake. “Right now of course!”

    Fragments of recorded interrogation

"... purely formal, mr Carlton, I assure you."
"Well I should certainly hope so. I'll have you know I've been chief of security for the past 5 years, longest anyone had ever held this position and I will not allow some green guards to undermine my authority, witnesses or not!"
"Sir, I'll have to ask you to calm down. As I said, pure formality. Now, where were you..."
    *static*
"... and then Zsasz's cell just... opened. Faulty circuits, let me tell ya. I mean, how else would you explain that? That I'd done that on purpose?"
"There are rumours that you knew about Zsasz's latest scar. That you knew he was going to kill eventually and-"
"And what? Sent Jenkins there as a fucking sacrficial lamb?"
    "..."
"Rumors, nothing more! Those wusses always undermine my authority, they wish they had my chair! They don't know how much this job takes, how careful you have to be for these loonies not to get to your head! They just don't understand what I have to do to keep this house of cards whole-"
    *static*

Excerpt from monthly staff psych evaluasion

(...) since the incident with patient Crane, a.k.a. "Scarecrow", Carlton's paranoia deepened. Even though this trait is still useful for a chief of security in a place such as Arkham, especially in combination with his overblown ego, I will once again call for someone in the guard staff to monitor him, just in case.
    Overseer's comment:
Request denied. For the last goddamn time, the last thing we need is him discovering a mole among his people. Seeing how paranoid he is now, imagine him beginning to doubt his lackeys even more than he does now.

Recorded in the guard room, during regular briefing:
Benjamin Carlton walked back and forth, in front of his subordinates, all of them standing straight and looking at the ceiling. His voice fell on them, loud and clear.
"Alright, listen up. All of you stand here for the first time in your lives. All of you have undergone training necessary to operate in Arkham Asylum. And all that..." Benjamin stopped and looked at them. "... doesn't mean shit out there. There is only one thing that can save you out there, save you from leaving in a bag or staying in one of the cells you were supposed to guard." He pointed at his chest. "It's me. You do what I say, when I say and how I say. When i say 'jump' you don't ask 'why', you don't ask 'how high', you jump. You jump or you die. Here in Arkham you have two kinds of gods. You have them..." he pointed to the door leading to one of the cell blocks "...and you have me. Choose wisely."

Recorded outside of Carlton's office, the only copy is the property of dr Arkham.
*nervous footsteps in the background* What are you planning, huh? I know you're up to something, I can see it in your eyes. You too. And you. And you. And you, and you, and youanfyouandyouandyouANDYOU! Everyone's up to something. But I'll discover what. *nervous laughter* oh, yes, I will. You won't beat me. I'm not scared. Not now, not ever. I'll show you why I'm outside of those bars and you are inside. Oh, yes, I'll show you. I'll show you all! *laughter increases volume until it stops completely, followed by heavy breathing and a short cough; sound of turned on walkie-talkie can be heard* Jenkins, I need you in sector C-42. Zsasz is getting restless."

    Arkham Patients/Inmates

    Patient # 93497
Full Name: Unknown. Father’s surname “Dorrance” Incomplete and conflicting birth records list patient as either not being given a name at birth, or potentially being given either Eduardo, Edmundo, or Antonio as a first name.*
    Alias: Bane

*A note on patient’s name: It is standard procedure to only address patients by their given birth names, as addressing them by their so-called “Supervillian” name only encourages their delusions. This procedure should be discontinued with Mr. Dorrance until further progress is made in his therapy. With one possible notable exception, no patient in recent memory has responded as negatively to being addressed by a name other than his alias. Perhaps eventually choosing his own “real” name could be seen as a therapeutic goal for Mr. Dorrance.

    Physical Notes:

Mr. Dorrance, AKA Bane, is a massively imposing physical presence, standing over six and a half feet tall and weighing close to four hundred pounds, all of it muscle that would put most professional power lifters to shame. He is notably covered in scars, especially his back, which is marked by tissue damage that could only have been inflicted by whippings or floggings. Unsurprisingly considering his upbringing (See below) Mr. Dorrance is heavily adorned with prison tattooing, some of which is simple enough to comprehend and the rest of which remains inscrutable to those not intimately involved in Central American prison culture.

Mr. Dorrance was/is addicted to the chemical steroid solution commonly referred to as “Venom”- a sort of instantaneously effective muscle enhancer that lacks most of the drawbacks of traditional anabolic steroids- gynomastia, testicular shrinkage and acne seem to be entirely absent in Venom users, although mood swings- particularly so called “Roid Rage”- are very evident in most Venom users, as is high blood pressure, stroke, and kidney failure. Dorrance AKA Bane (*note again we should probably be referring to him solely as Bane until further therapeutic breakthroughs are made) seems to have an unnaturally high tolerance for the drug, injecting it in massive doses, often directly into his brain via custom designed ports installed in his skull. Whether or not this is simply a fluke of genetic luck or a potential indication of latent metahuman capacities in Bane remains to be seen.

Bane can and has gone off Venom for several months at a time but he invariably returns to the drug. See attached literature for more on the venom compound and it’s various effects.

It should be made very, very clear that even without the drug, Bane is strong to the point of near disbelief, durable far beyond most normal humans, and far faster than anyone his size reasonably has a right to be. Approach Bane with EXTREME caution and always be ready to use Beta level restraints and protocols. If he is suspected of having acquired Venom, raise these protocols to Alpha-1 level restraints and protocols (Alpha 2 or higher will still probably be fatal on this patient, regardless of his enhanced durability).

    Patient History:

From what we can gather, Bane was born in a hellhole prison on the island nation of Santa Prisca, the victim of an archaic legal system where a child can be imprisoned for the crimes of a parent. While this practice is certainly barbaric and to our eyes unconscionable, we cannot let that blind us to the fact that Bane is a multiple murderer many times over, an international terrorist and a general anti-social threat to others. A tortured childhood is arguably a reason for becoming a monster, but it is not an excuse.

At some point during his incarceration, Bane was subject to experiments with the aforementioned Venom drug. Shortly thereafter he is believed to have escaped from the prison. Much of the rest of the details of his life between his escape and his eventual clash with the vigilante known as Batman are shrouded in uncertainty. Getting Bane to open up about himself and his life should be considered a therapeutic goal.

    Psychological notes:

One thing needs to be established early on, and that is despite his brutish appearance, Bane is *exceptionally* intelligent. His Wechsler-scale testing puts his IQ at 142, comfortably in the genius range and higher than roughly 99.75% of the general population. He is also, bafflingly considering the nature of his upbringing, essentially in possession of a classical education, and he speaks six languages fluently- his native Spanish, English, Portuguese, Russian, French, and Latin.

Bane is arguably one of the more “sane” patients of Arkham Asylum, but that is perhaps not saying much. There is certainly plenty to work on with him, and the spark of reason in him could be considered a lucky stand of humanity that many of his fellow patients do not share.

Bane displays strong narcissistic tendencies, believing himself to be a “perfected, complete human”- and there is a strong implication the Venom drug was part of this process. Bane also seems to view his somewhat inscrutable moral code as being an absolutist truth of the world, and that he is a “man of honor”.

A note from our usual reliable source (B.M) says that Bane is “incapable of conceiving of a narrative in which he is not the protagonist.” While B.M is not, to our knowledge, a trained psychologist, this seems an accurate assessment.

Unlike many of our patients, Bane also exhibits a marked dislike for lying, except where he can gain a solid advantage through manipulation. In his day to day to discourse he tends to rely heavily on a cynical streak of sardonic honesty, and while he may present the facts in a way that favors his own position or ego, he very rarely outright lies.*

*Therapist’s Note: I feel that Mr. Dorrance’s dislike for lying is less a moral compunction and more a strategy and a deception in and of itself- the opposite of crying wolf, to speak. If he tells the truth at all times, when he finally does lie, it is far more likely to be believed.

Sexually, Bane seems in all respects to be a typical heterosexual, although it’s somewhat clear that he is lacking in experience and to some degree context in regards to the way sexual relationships work, and tends to view them almost as a transaction.

Bane has made reference to an attempted sexual assault on his person made by a fellow inmate of his childhood prison, but as opposed to treating it with shame or confusion, Bane lauds the fact he defended himself and that his would-be attacker was in fact his “first kill”. Given Bane’s general propensity to tell the truth where most people would lie, we have very little reason to doubt this account.

Growing up in an all-male prison, however, did have a few effects on Bane’s sexual health, or rather, his general approach to women. His mother, who seemed to have been actually incarcerated with him in order to care for the child for a time, seems to be the measuring stick for which he holds all women, and so views them with a mixture of longing and contempt. We suspect a young, attractive female therapist could pull more out of him, but we must be careful with regards to his emotional well being and her safety- the goal is to help Bane overcome his issues, not to manipulate him.

Other than his mother, Bane says he did not see a woman until he was in his early twenties. Again, there seems to be no reason to doubt this.

Worth noting, but hardly surprising, is that like many of our patients, Bane has an obsession and vendetta against B.M, claiming to once having actually crippled B.M in hand to hand combat. While this seems unlikely, given B.M’s obvious martial skill, we cannot discount it as a possibility.

The reason for Bane’s obsession is as of writing this, unknown. This could also be a beneficial avenue of discussion.

    Treatment suggestions:

Bane’s treatment plan is relatively straightforward. While he may never be able to rejoin society, lessening his rage and bitterness, as well as helping him establish actual interpersonal relationships based on trust and respect should be the goal.

    Excerpt from Disillusion of Youth
    R. G. Scott
Editorial for the Gotham Medical Journal

When I met her, it was spring, but her eyes lingered on the receding snowbanks. She was twenty-four and considered something of a prodigy in the field of cryogenics, outspoken and vivacious, with nothing but a bright future to look forward to. She would soon after become a wife as well as an advocate for women's rights. All these things came so naturally to Vik Fries-Stanton that I found myself jealous of her seemingly impossible capacity for success. In my youth, I wished her to know of struggle and misfortune if only to ground her, thinking it would keep her among us longer. Us being the scientific community of Gotham, awed by the great advances she made, yet forever left chasing after her lead.

Vik Fries-Stanton was my muse, my rival, and my worst nightmare.

The last time I was allowed to see Vik, she was no older than she had been during our first encounter. Though her skin wore a tinge of blue I wasn't familiar with, the rest remained remarkably the same. Fierce grey eyes and a coiffe of choppy blonde hair, a look of defiance plastered over her features. Tall and slender, pacing long strides around what precious little space she had in her cell. I had been her first visitor in a decade that wasn't part of a scandal fan club; her scientific colleagues had abandoned her in the wake of her crimes. She only wished to see me so she could deliver a collection of articles she had written for the medical journal, but I had ulterior motives.

Articles or no, I wanted to speak to Vik one last time. Do you know what she said to me?

'What you seek is just another disillusion of youth. I'm not who you think I am.'

    Patient # 91240
    Full Name: Viktoria Amelia Fries-Stanton*
    Alias: Freeze

*Note: The patient prefers to be called Vik. They never truly accepted their criminal moniker of "Freeze", but admit the humor behind the name is sound. When asked who concocted the name, the patient laughed and replied that the media had concocted everything, name and crimes alike.

    Physical Notes
The patient stands at 5'7" and weighs 130lbs. Her eyes are a blueish grey. Her hair is blonde.** Though she bears no scars outside of the superficial, Fries-Stanton has a peculiar blue-skin complexion that gives her skin an aqua hue. In low light, it's unnoticeable, but under the heavy fluorescents of the cafeteria or the nursing station, it's plain to see. When spoken with about this condition, the patient changed the subject.

It is well known that her "deformity" (if one could call something so slight a deformity) is the product of an accident in her lab while she was working in the field of cryogenics. The patient was miraculously unharmed otherwise, though her aging process has almost completely stopped. Even without the aide of her homebrew cryo-suit, Fries-Stanton looks no older than she did the day of the accident nearly two decades ago.

In regards to the cryo-suit, she was forced to wear an Arkham designed version of the suit for the first several times she was committed, but her molecular structure has since stabilized and she is now capable of living relatively comfortably without sub-zero temperatures as a prerequisite. This also means that her powers have been greatly diminished, rendering her harmless as far as patients go. B.M. made sympathetic suggestions for Fries-Stanton when the patient first arrived, but we have never needed to do more than gently restrain the patient. She isn't one to fight us physically.

**Note: The patient is rather attractive, but I have yet to see her use this to her advantage. She doesn't flirt with the Doctors or the Nursing staff, nor does she barter her body for goods among the other patients. If anything, she is rather disconnected from the general dissonance of the Asylum. Most of her free time is spent alone, reading or writing in her journal. We hope in the future we can connect with the patient on a personal level, but until that day comes, she remains an oddity as far as her virtuousness goes.

    Patient History
Viktoria Fries was raised by a wealthy family who had only her best interests at heart. The patient has spoken adamantly that her criminal past, real or fabricated, is in no part related to her upbringing, and that her parents were model caregivers. I am inclined to believe her thanks to the great strides for the scientific community she accomplished prior to her lengthy incarceration. Little is known of her personal life other than she attended an elite boarding school until college, and at some point during her graduates' degree met her now deceased husband, Norman Stanton. The two would be married in a private ceremony while the patient was finishing their Ph.D. in cryogenics.

The topic of Fries-Stanton's crimes is one we have debated fervently at the asylum. While some of the doctors have been happy to accept what they were told of the crimes, be it through the police files or from B.M.'s notes, others have considered that this might be a case of mistaken motives. The patient claims that she only acted in the best interest of her then husband, and had it not been a life-threatening situation, she would never have turned to such drastic measures to obtain the money or the equipment for her experiments. Regardless of what anyone on staff thinks, innocent lives were lost and Fries-Stanton is to blame. We are working to instill a sense of accountability in the patient, even if it was an accident.

    Psychological Notes

Viktoria Fries-Stanton is a brilliant woman with a vast expanse of knowledge that covers countless subjects. It is my understanding that she was a lead mind in the cryogenics movement and her research into extended life spans and cryogenic freezing for terminal patients is still being cited by reputable sources around the world. Perhaps this is what I find so disheartening about treating this patient in particular. She doesn't fit the profile of an Arkham criminal, and rehabilitating her has been difficult for the staff because they feel sympathetic to the patient's case. She isn't violent, her sanity isn't in question, and she is open about most subjects.

The only topic she doesn't care to speak with us about is any that relates to her deceased spouse, Norman. It's almost been twenty years and she is still in a state of grieving. ***

Unlike many of our patients, Fries-Stanton doesn't seem to hold a grudge against B.M., nor have they mentioned anyone else they might dislike or blame for their actions. Realistically, while Fries-Stanton does not feel guilty for the lives lost by their pursuits, they acknowledge that they are the reason these lives were lost. When the patient finally accepts the guilt associated with their part in these deaths, we will be ready to start working on a long-term plan of rehabilitation (including potential freedom) for Fries-Stanton.

***Note: Patient requires reliable listeners. Please do not force the topic of intimacy or loss on the patient because this will cause the patient to entirely shut down, thus halting further progress for the day.

    Treatment Suggestions

While empathy is required when handling emotionally vulnerable patients, be careful not to let your personal feelings on the subject interfere with treatment. Listen, observe, and continue to be as cautious with this patient as you would be with any of the more dangerous patients in the asylum. Do more listening than talking. Find alternative ways to question her. This is a patient who has already answered the full gamut of questions our staff had been tasked with asking her. We need innovative topics and queries that might help her open up as well as teach us how we can better assist her in the long term

    Patient Number: 51081
    Inmate Name; Tetch, Jervis
    Alias: The Mad Hatter

    Physical Notes:
Jervis Tetch stands 5'9" and weighs 149 pounds. He has blue eyes, brown hair, and presents with a slight over-bite. Mr. Tetch's IQ measured at 178, which puts his intellect at the "High Genius" level of the scale. He has a genetic defect known as macrocephaly, or over-sized head. It is believed to be due to the fact that Mr. Tetch also suffers from megalencephaly , or an over-sized brain.

    Patient History:
Jervis Tetch was orphaned at a young age when his parents were killed in some sort of accident, the details of which are unknown. Actually very little is known about Mr. Tetch as he claims to recall very little about his younger years except for the fact that he never had any friends. Mr. Tetch is an expert hypnotist and can hypnotize his subjects with either a swinging object such as a watch or even with his voice, depending on the person. Mr. Tetch is also very knowledgeable in the field of neuroscience, particularly in the area of behavior modification. He is an inventor as well and has designed mind-control devices which he places in headgear he forces his victims to wear. Mr Tetch's crimes include: theft, assault, kidnapping, torture, and murder.

    Psychological Notes:
Jervis Tetch has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and suffers from acute delusions. Mr. Tetch believes himself to be the true -life incarnation of the Mad Hatter from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. He is known to both quote and reference the stories often and has trouble discerning between them and reality. Under extreme duress, Mr. Tetch resorts to speaking in rhyme as a defense mechanism. Possibly because of his lack of friends growing up, Tetch has a hard time socializing with adults and finds it easier to get along with younger people. Finally, Mr. Tetch suffers from erotomania centering around any female named Alice or any female he perceives to fit his interpretation of what an Alice should look like.

    Treatment Notes:
Jervis Tetch should be kept heavily medicated at all times. Staff are advised not to put anything on their heads in the vicinity of the patient nor allow themselves to be one-on-one with the patient for too long. Mr. Tetch collects hat wear of all types and dress code restrictions on headwear have been relaxed for Mr. Tetch. Be advised that the patient can move from a catatonic like state to extremely violent if he is forced to remove his hat. Mr. Tetch enjoys helping the other patients with their various hobbies and projects. He is also very receptive to therapy sessions so long as personnel are willing to participate in social teas with him and provided no activities are scheduled during tea time.

    Patient number:83357-M
    Inmate name: Jones, Waylon
    Alias: Killer Croc

    Physical notes:
Mr. Jones stands at around seven foot, that being an estimate seeing as he slightly slouches and we had one person lose a hand trying to force him. Me. Jones is around three hundred and fifty pounds literally has the hide of a crocodile. We are still trying to study this but seeing as his temperament gets in the way we have had little success.

He went crazy a few years back in the sewers of Gotham, feasting on rats and other unmentionables but we've made great progress in the area of his sanity, though he still prefers flesh to real food. He has a nasty bite, as sited earlier one of our orderlies lost a hand to him....he took it in one bite. He does better in cold dark places and is thus kept in such with plenty of water. It should be made clear he can hurt you and could very well eat you if he wants too though he has been more calm as of late.

    Patient History:
We don't know where he came from. Some say the bayou some say the swamps. All we know is that when we got him he said he'd been born with this defect making him look like this and we also know that he has one of the highest kill counts in Gotham.

    Physiology notes:
Though he is one of the more calm patients now Mr. Jones cannot be discounted on the fact that he has a history of snapping for the littlest of things. One day he's fine the next he's trying to get through the bars at the guards.

He has no sympathy for anything according to our accounts though according to our source B.M. he cares for the young and the outcasts. He's probably the only member who doesn't flat out hate B.M. though like everyone else he will kill B.M. if given the chance. A young psychologist may do well in his case as well and perhaps small.

Sexually Mr. Jones is a typical heterosexual man though he has never been with a woman seeing as most find him repulsive and he doesn't try anymore for that reason. It may be something that needs drawing out so to bring him closer to sanity. If so we must watch him and his psychologist closely.

    Treatment suggestions:
Though he may never be able to return to society He must let go of his rage and learn to connect to other beings. Bring him out of that lone wolf mentality and show him he can still connect even if he is the only one like him. He must also let go of the past and hate given towards him and learn to trust.

    Patient #48140

    Name: Nygma, Edward*
    Alias: The Riddler

*Therapist Note: We do have confirmation that this is in fact her real name. When enquired about, she stated that— and I quote— “Daddy dearest wanted a son.”

    Physical Notes

The patient stands an even 5’9 at an estimated 120lb with her lean figure and small/lacking bust.* She bears light amounts of freckles over pale skin, otherwise lacking any sort of natural ‘blemishes’. While she is not nearly as marked as other patients, she does bear the occasional scar which is speculated to be from a combination of correctly placed batarangs and improper or late treatment to the cuts.

*Therapist Note: For a fair amount of time Ms.Nygma was thought to be a rather short and extremely effeminate male. Her initial visit to our facility has since proven otherwise, but a surprising portion of Gotham’s civilians, corrupt, and even a few within the Asylum still believe otherwise.

Out of our current patients, she has proven to be one of those who is easier to handle in a physical manner should the need arise**. For the most part she doesn’t pose any great threat in terms of inflicting physical harm as long as she is without her cane, other gadgets, or the basic things which any human can cause trouble with. It should be noted she can be quite creative though, and as such some caution should still be kept in mind when dealing with her hands-on.

**Therapist Note: Please keep in mind that unnecessary man-handling has made her malicious in the past. It may not happen outright, but she will bide her time and go to great lengths for revenge. One recorded instance of this shows that Ms.Nygma went to great lengths to blow off the arm of a former guard who she felt had mistreated her.

This does not mean that she can be peacefully left to her own devices. While it is generally slow to happen, Ms.Nygma has something of a reputation of escaping, generally getting places she shouldn’t, and fueling the flames of those around her. Like with any patient escape is frown upon, but her exits can just as likely be without a trace as they can be to the scale of releasing every other inmate as well (an event that has occurred before). It is recommended that unless within her own cell, you should be aware of where she is at all times. Please keep in mind that Ms.Nygma is the only inmate to ever escape Belle Reve Penitentiary, and the perceptions of other patients should not shape your own.

It should also be noted, this skill also translates to having things she should not. It’s recommended to give her a double and triple check for contraband upon arrival, and to check her for such if suspicion arises.

    Psychological Notes

It should be made clear, that entertaining her games is the last thing one should do. Guards in the past have gone to her for teachings and favors, therapists began being the ones to open up to her, and she’s coerced other inmates into assisting her via common goal or other rewards*. She will play you like a fiddle with little to no remorse, and happily go on her merry way to once again continue the game that currently suits her fancy**. Her intelligence surpasses even our inmates with IQ’s breaching genius level, and has been estimated to have contrived plans which have stopped The Flash and nearly killed Batman. Her theatrics and zealous nature make her entertaining, but do not let it make you soft to her games.

*Therapist Note: This isn’t to suggest she is always the highest power though, as other inmates just as equally drag her into their own schemes. It also isn’t to say that she can’t be outsmarted or outdone, just that generally others come to her for her prowess.

**Therapist Note: While she seems to mostly lack empathy, she does show attachment to certain things.

Ms.Nygma seems to suffer a case of OCD in reference to her obsession with and compulsion to leave riddles, puzzles, or other clues. It’s assumed that this was caused by a traumatic event or series of events, games being a means of escape but then turned obsessive as a means of overcoming or ignoring certain anxieties and insecurities. Coupled with intrusive thoughts, the obsession turned malicious only to be spurred on by B.M. who’s been deemed a ‘playmate’ to her crimes. As such, it’s likely that over time with the right care the habit can be curbed and she could return to a normal life; one must keep in mind though that she has still committed the crimes regardless of the reason.

She’s quite a narcissistic individual, however it is noted that she does in very rare occasions show adoration towards other she deems ‘as close to in her league as it gets’, implying that she still does think herself superior to some degree.

With the right occurrence though, her arguably manic behavior can take an turn into a depressive state. In such occasions she has shown to be self aware, narcissism subsiding and acknowledging that she’s mentally ill— or at least that there is something not quite right*. Often times though she’ll also become quite reserved and pull into herself, self-care becoming quite poor and her being moody in softer ways verses her usual sharp intensity. It doesn’t seem to happen entirely often, but has been noted here as a potential time for breakthrough’s and to keep better watch to make sure she remains healthy.

*Therapist Note: While it is discouraged with most patient’s anyways, referring to her as any means of ‘crazy’ or ‘stupid’ leads to highly volatile behavior.

Please keep in mind what you say to her, as she absorbs everything and is an easy source of gossip and information to others deemed ‘villainous’.

In terms of sexuality she seems to go any way and as such identifies as bisexual, though she does seem to have some preference for males. She can be flirty in some cases as part of her theatrics or simply entertainment, but her reception of compliments differs from affirming acceptance to actually getting flustered at advancements.

    Patient History

Through comparing notes with B.M. and her own cryptic words, we have been lead to believe that Ms.Nygma had come from an abusive household. Our information suggests that her father was verbally and likely physically abusive, though her mother’s roll remains unknown with nothing to go off of. It seems that she has repressed these memories though, as any enquiry of her before the age of 18 is met with redirection, rejection, or brief sentences. It’s believed that her love of puzzles was a way to get away from such aggressions, developing into an obsessive delusion and the basis of her OCD. The full truth and admittance from her may evoke pity from therapists, but we do remind you that she is a well renowned criminal who’s even gone at it with other heroes besides B.M and hacking agencies such as ARGUS.

Ms.Nygma is best known for her hacking and theft as that is what most other villains seek her out for. It always comes with her own form of elaborate planning, but she her most significant crimes are those committed on her own or with her as the driving force rather than just another piece. (Some of these instances which are mentioned throughout the file).

Some villains do view her as ‘the bottom of the totem pole’, but we warn you to not let their own opinions shape your own. Underestimating Ms.Nygma has proven crippling at best, and will always lead to someone getting hurt even if months later.

    Treatment Suggestions

Treatment suggested is relatively simple in terms of steps, however it will take a steady person to do so. We aim to curb how she handles her OCD in reference to intrusive thoughts and underlying anxieties through other means of coping aside from violent theatrical games*. From there treatment should be adjusted accordingly, depending on if her actions continue on the pretense of boredom or superiority. Our hope is that she’ll at some point be deemed stable enough to find her way back into society, as it is a feat she’s accomplished once before.

*Therapist Note: Take into account that while we do aim to quell her obsession, leaving her without some sort of mental stimulation often leaves her bored. Unfortunately in her case, that then leads to being more destructive than she already has the potential for. Because of this we will leave it up to her therapist’ discretion, however it is advised that she be given a marker or book for entertainment when within her own cell.
    Arkham Asylum Report #16754
    [IMG]
    Name: Leslie Willis
    Alias: Livewire
    Age: 23
    Sex: Female
    Ethnicity: Caucasian
    DOB: May 17th
    Residence: Metropolis(Detained in Gotham)
    Occupation: Radio DJ
    Orientation: Bisexual
    Blood type: Unknown

    Psychological Evaluation:
Leslie is one our most promising candidates for rehabilitation. Though she shows no direct threat to the public or herself. She has proven misguided and dangerous towards other metahuman's and heroes alike. Especially towards Superman. She has shown a unhealthy prejiduce against the man of steel in both her broadcasts and the days after her transformation. She is having a hard time accepting her powers and blames Superman for her transformation. During the “Auctioneer” incident she proved capable of helping others and even able to set her personal grudges aside. We hope before long she will adapt and reform.

    Ability assessment:
Leslie's powers are unlike any we have seen before. She is literally living electricity. Not only that she can project the electricity into various waves(radio, telecommunication, etc.). It's quite extraordinary but also extremely dangerous.

Containment has proven to be quite an issue. Luckily Wayne Enterprises has provided a collar that help dampen her powers. She still requires a daily “discharge” of her powers for her own comfort but behaves for the most part. Once she had to be put in solitary confinement. Unethically being submerged in a full tank of water to short out her powers. I argued adamantly that this method is inhumane and causes undue stress on her.

    Other Notes:
-Lex Luthor tried to visit her once again today. We turned him away.....again. I believe he is detrimental to Leslie's recovery and insist he not be allowed anywhere near her.
-Leslie has started using her powers in a creative way. She used her electricity today to conduct a beautiful rendition of a old classic. Recording is included below. I believe we are making serious progress.

    Patient number: 99076
    Inmate Name: Ang, Vandar
    Alias: Vandal Savage

    Patient history:

Vandal Savage has a long and brutal history, if his alleged past is to be believed. Current files on Savage have him listed at 50,000 years old. His immortality stems from contact with a meteor, which also endowed him with a greater intellect ( files have his IQ listed at 195), a significant increase in overall athleticism, and a rapid healing factor. Records state that while Savage can "die", his healing factor prevents him from remaining dead. According to testaments from Savage, he has played a role in every war throughout history and has even been some of history's greatest figures, such as Attila the Hun. Upon his first incarceration, which occurred 4 years ago at the hands of the Justice League, Savage offered a list of all of his past lives he has lived. His possesion of various historical artifacts and his recount of each life has been so accurate that it is accepted as fact that he was each of these persons.

    Physical notes:

Vandal Savage stands at an imposing 6'4" and weighs 258 pounds. He has long black hair and three very notable scars across his face that, he states, came from a battle with a bear. There are a multitude of scars around his body, varying in size and shape, that he states are from various battles in history.

    Psychological notes:

As far as studies can tell, Vandal isn't exactly a prime candidate for treatment at Arkham. His violent/criminal tendencies are associated with delusions of grandeur and egomania. However, during his previous incarceration, his legal team made many appeals in regards to his mental state. After consultation with Dr. Hugo Strange, who stated that Savage's insanity was linked to his extensive life, Savage was accepted as in inmate to Arkham Asylum.

    Treatment suggestions:

It has been requested by some* that Savage stay incarcerated and not be allowed to re-enter society. However, it is the duty of this staff to analyze the patients mindset and do whatever is necessary to help him. It is recommended that Savage receive therapy directly from Dr. Constance Arkham to start the treatment process.

*Request came from the Justice League, whom have voted unanimously on the belief that Savage is too dangerous to be released from incarceration.

We need innovative topics and queries that might help her open up as well as teach us how we can better assist her in the long term.

Fantastic! Another character sheet or two and we can start planning!

The nature of the setting really allows us to be flexible with people coming and going, so if someone wants to enter later or needs to drop out, we can easily facilitate it.

    Jervis_Tetch.jpg
