"Uh, where exactly are we going?" Vee asked, combing some loose leaves and floating pollen out of her hair. As she followed her new step-sister through the forest, she held back what felt to be an angry and painful sneeze.

"This isn't going to be one of those, angry girl stabs new step-sister fourteen times in the forest, is it?" she grumbled. After she had mentioned it though, she stifled a mysterious shiver and glared at the back of Farris' head suspiciously. She was positive Farris didn't have an evil bone in her body, but it's always the one you least expect, isn't ━ "Ah choo!" She sniffled, rubbing at her nose. "...Ugh..."

Vee, being a girl with short pigtails and glasses that were constantly sliding down her face, held the very atmosphere of your stereotypical bookworm. To top it off, she enjoyed reading and doodling in her textbooks by the window, staring outside at the view but not participating in it. However, it wasn't because she was a "bookworm" that she wasn't keen on this mysterious excursion. She enjoyed nature and birds and long, sweaty hikes through weird woods as much as the next person. The issue was that she was quite allergic to a lot of the local flora and fauna (and, if one was to be really technical and exact, the sunlight made her a tad itchy, too).

As a result, she normally avoided being outside for long periods of time, especially when it concerned pollen and unknown plants and poison ivy. She eyed the weaving greenery to the left of them.

"Lots of poison ivy here, Farris..." she mumbled. "Lots and lots of poison ivy..."

Farris had the mind to spin on Vee and spook her...but then she would probably run off home and Farris couldnt show her, her knew secret spot. Her favorite place to come to during the summer when she was home. Her golden eyes glanced back towards her new step-sister watching her, her own nose scrunching up as she listened to the sneeze. It almost made her feel like she had to sneeze. A slender hand reached up running under her nose to dissolve the feeling.

    "
It's nice to get out Vee...I saw you last week watching me. You sooo wanted to come along...and now heres your chance. Relax, seriously." Farris went on shaking her head. Her own eyes glanced over at the creeping vines. There was alot of it, she shifted away as she continued on. "Just don't touch it...you'll be fine." Spoken as if it was really not the plant that made you itch for days, while waving her hand around.

Her flat shows moved along through the grass that was no taller than her ankles. Farris carried a small backpack on her back, it bounced lightly carrying who knew what. Ducktape...twine...a knife...the usual.

The trees started to clear and soon enough they heard the flow of water. A river that cut through a trail. Soon enoigh they came to a cliff, down it the water ran forming a small waterfall. Farris smiled wavinf out her arm. "
Ta-da!" She said before grinning as she looked at Vee. "Arent you just dying to jump?" Farris asked curiously. Already the young woman was pulling a black tank top off leaving her in a bikini blue top.

She opened her backpack as she started putting her clothes inside. Standing in her bikini, as she tossed her bag and shoes aside. "
It's fun ive done it loads of time." Farris said reassurenly. So...really only a handful of time, but she wasnt injured, so that made it ok.

Vee's cheeks flushed a bright pink, but Farris was shaking her head and not looking at her, thankfully.

"I wasn't watching," she argued. "That's creepy. I was reading a really good book, and I just happened to look up out the window and see you. Don't make it sound like was I creeping on you from inside the house."

"Just don't touch it," her sister advised. "You'll be fine."

"Gee, thanks," Vee mumbled. "Hadn't thought of that at all, Farris. How have I survived so long without you?"

Vee shifted her own backpack, tightening the straps so that it wouldn't bounce as much as she followed her new sibling upwards and upwards and upwards. (Where they climbing a mountain? The sister murder-suicide was starting to look really plausible, this deep into a forest rumored to rumored hold angry spirits and voracious demons.) She didn't know what her sister had brought along, but in Vee's own backpack were a couple of books, a blanket, her glasses case, her decrepit water bottle, and a NSFW joke picture book that a stupid friend had slipped in and she had never bothered to take it out. It was heavier than she had wanted it to be, but she told herself that, once they got to wherever it was they were going, a good read on a thick blanket in the forest would be both relaxing and exhilarating. After all, it wasn't every day that she spent time outside.

By the time they reached the cliff, Vee had immediately realized what was happening. Her sister stripped down to a cute blue bikini with the waterfall right behind her.

"I'm sorry," Vee stammered, shaking her head. "I was just hallucinating for a sec there. What did you say?"

"It's fun," Farris assured her, "I've done it loads of time."

Her face scrunched up into an obvious and accusatory disbelief. "How many times is loads of time? It just takes one time to break your back, Farris. And you didn't tell me that we were swimming!" As the situation continued to dawn on her, her mouth continued to drop lower and lower. "You're kidding, right? You're not actually going to jump?"

That was when the fear and anxiety started to seep into her voice, pushing out the normal wail of sarcasm.

"Farris — Farris, are you for real jumping?" She pushed the glasses up her nose. "Parasites, Farris, uh, there could be man-eating germs, uh, crocodiles — are there crocodiles here? I don't know, but anything can happen."

Farris giggled hearing how flustered Vee sounded from being seen up in the window. That girl needed a chill pill...or a smoke...or a drink...something. If only she had known she would have been stuck with someone who was wound up so tight. "You really need to get out more." She mumbled shaking her head.

She should have been surprised with the expression Vee was showing her. But she wasnt. Farris rolled those golden eyes which looked more unnatrual in the light then at night when they seemed to settle on a honey brown. "Jesus, Vee. Have some fun. I thought with how big your bag looks you might have brought a swim suit. I mean..what do you have in there? A giant boulder?" She asked her hands on her slender hips. She laughed.

"Im not going to break my back..the water is clean, theres no crocodile's here." She said at this point helping Vee to take her backpack off. "Here..first take this thing off." She said setting it aside. A grin was slipping on her lips as she looped her arm with Vee. "Now. The best thing about jumping. Its best just to go for it!" Farris said quickly as she pulled Vee along with her.

She laughed pulling the other girl with her as she made a jump for it. A excited scream escaped her as her silvery hair wiped up into the hair. Her stomach twisted in excitment and as they hit the water, she kept her legs straight. The cool air engulfed her swallowing her body. Down down, at this point she let the other girl go, as her body descended until a flash of light beamed.

Was that the sun? Farris had remembered that happening once before, but when she jumped afterwards it hadnt happened. With a gasp she reached the surface and opened her eyes. The air was a tad cooler feeling than she had remebered. Was there a storm moving in? Her hand rubbed over her face as she giggled kicking back onto her back and floating. "Wasnt that exciting!? Oh dont be mad, you need some thrill in your life." Farris said dunking under as she flipped in the water.

She then swam over to the bank side and pulled herself out, goosebumps crawling over her skin. High up in a tree a pair of golden eyes watched, a black feline ear flicked, the flash of light had indeed been seen and it gave then woman a startle. Having been trying to catch a fish then seeing a sudden light and not to mention bubbles...she thought some sort of serpent was making its way up to get her.

What she hadnt planned on was seeing two women, one half naked and laughing while another dressed in sopping wet clothed and not looking as amused. A small grin slipped on her pink lips, a glimmer of a fang poking out as her nails pressed into the bark of the giant limb. "Interesting." She said quietly.

"Don't be ridiculous," Vee snapped. "Why would I have a boulder here?" But then her sister was helping her take off her backpack despite her very loud and anxious apprehensions.

Vee peered over the edge slowly as her sister looped arms with her. She was trying to convince herself that, perhaps, Farris was right. She did spend a lot of time reading about adventures and romances and protagonists with hearts of gold and stomachs lined with steel. Maybe it was time for her to take the chapters of her life and rewrite a few things, add in a few details ━ "Actually, actually, I'm quite okay with where I ammmMM SON OF A ━ AHH!"

She should've known that her sister would try such an underhanded trick ━ that thought echoed in her mind right before she crashed through the surface of the water, too terrified to close her eyes. The force of her fall pushed her deep into the lake, her limbs automatically searching for something solid and stable to grab onto, but finding nothing.

    Up, up!

She looked up toward the sky and saw a flash of light ━ sunlight? It didn't look like it, but there was no time to think about that as she felt herself sinking toward the bottom. With the faint memory of ten-year-old swimming classes, she kicked her legs and propelled herself to the surface, breaking through with a gasp and a swear.

"Son of a two-timing asshole bitch, Farris!"

Vee wiped at her face, pushing aside strands of her hair as, in the midst of the action, her braids had come loose. She undid the tie and slipped it around her wrists, and then seeing her glasses floating off to the side, she swam over and reached for them.

She spat out some water and swam toward the shore, hoping to get firm dirt beneath her feet.

"Not fun at all, goddammit" she grumbled, looking down at her wet clothes and shivering. "Hey, Farris, what was the weather forecast today?" she asked. "Why did you take us out to swim if it was going to be storming?"

Finally, when Vee was standing calf deep in the water, she pulled off her shirt to wring the water out. The air was chilly and goosebumps littered her arms, but she felt strange, as if part of the shaking had to do with people watching. Were there people watching? It felt...odd.

    -

In a nearby tree, Hidetsugu glanced between the girls and his companion, the way her ears were twitching and her slit eyes sparkled. He couldn't deny the fact that they were interesting. One second, there was no smell of humans, and in the next, the whole area was lit up with the scent of human girls as they emerged from the holy lake as if they had always been there, when in actuality, there had been no one there before the two of them.

He heard his companion murmur, "Interesting," under her breath, and he was inclined to agree.

"Shall we greet them?" he asked softly, knowing her demonic ears would catch his faint whispers as easily as if he had publicly announced them.

They were wearing such strange clothing, he thought. They were very scandalous and sinful ━ it wasn't quite the word he wanted to use, but he had noticed that the humans, especially women, were always covered and clad, soft and demure, but these women were boisterous, and one of them wore a different kind of spectacles that he had never seen before.

    "New toys, perhaps?" he chuckled.

Farris was nothing but giggles as Vee cursed her. She grinned widely, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she stood out of the water. Her arms crossed as her hands rubbed the goosebumps from her skin. A pleased expression was given no doubt she had been wanting to do that for some time. Ever since she had caught her watching her from the window. One day, she knew she would get her, bring her out into the world. Get them out of their parents hair for a good few hours so they had some REAL alone time..not the quiet alone time they had to have while Vee was stuffed in her room. Probably reading hot and heavy books, Farris was sure those were stuffed some place. She actually had been planning on rummaging through her things just to find them and tease her. She couldn't be all that good and sweet like she seemed to be. There had to be a horn thorn stuck some place in her.

"Best hurry! Glasses don't float for long!" A cackle came from Farris, very fitting for the stunt she had just pulled. She cleared her throat, reaching up and brushing her silvery hair from her face as she gave her head a good shake. The feline eared woman above watched this, her head tilting as her tail flicked around. "You have no humor." Farris said rolling her eyes. "It was loads of fun, let's do it again!." She said jumping as her hands clapped together. "I didn't look at the weather Vee, I like surprises in my life! Adventure! You can't get it all from a book! And your certainly not reading the whole summer away either!" Farris said looking at her. As her sister pulled her shirt off she glanced away, her eyes trailing over the trees a moment. Her feet stumbling back all the sudden as she knocked into Vee as a women jumped down.

It seemed Saku did indeed want to greet this two woman. Not many...well never had seen seen anyone come from the depths. Unless they had been there all alone..and were...just really good at holding their breaths. "What kind of demons are you? Hailing from the depths of the lake?" Saku asked her curiosity getting the best of her. Farris stared at her, she had ears...and a tail. Was this a joke? Her lips parted before grinning as she giggled. Course she wasn't taking this seriously at all, thinking some crazy cos-players were running around the woods. "Mmm. The Great Depths...to be exact." She said, how was she suppose to know this wasn't pretend and reached for Vee. "Look...I bet you read about ones like her in your books don't you." She said nudging her sister foward. Saku blinked, there was more to the depths then she realized then.

Saku's ears twitched, her tail flicking before wrapping around her waist as she took a step closer, her feet were wrapped to protect them from all the running around she had been doing. Her fingers curled up into her palm a moment before relaxing. "Why...are you two not wearing clothes?" She came closer to inspect Vee, her hand reaching out and lightly a nail hooking at the waistband of her bottoms. "Strange..." She whispered before letting it snap into place, her golden eyes shifted to Farris who was even more naked then the other. Farris met the strange women's gaze, her ears moved...and her tail...she suddenly felt a little exposed, even though she was wearing a swimsuit.

Saku's eyes narrowed into slits, her tail end tapping against her waist. "Hidetsugu...what if they are sneaky demons trying to fool us or something." Saku said and her slender arm suddenly reached out, wrapping around Vee's neck and tugging her close against her body. Her tail whipped out, wrapping around the girls waist tugging her close as she sniffed at her neck. Her tongue flicked out, tasting her skin, but all she tasted was the waters of the lake. "Good at hiding...and all." She whispered.
