Capming slightly when she saw the woman entering the cave she sat on her haunches, her hands on the ground as she dug into the dirt. The chains pulled tight as blood dripped around the cuff. Her eyes fogged over with nothing but wild hormonal rage, her long tail thrashing around as wings stretched from her back. Panting heavily small dark gray clouds of smokes escaping her lips. Why was her mate staying away from her!? She was suppose to be with her she had chosen her!

Looking at the fruit Jasper snorted and crushed it with her hand, looking at rhe sticky slimy goo as it dripped from her hand onto the ground. Looking up at her mate she snorted "Need meat.. Green food is for part not for a hunter" she snarled as she licked her large canines, backing up slightly as she stretched her wings before launching herself forward again only to land flat on her back when the chains refused to break. Grunting she rolled over and shook off slightly dirt and dust flying into the air as she stretched again. She was not impressed, starting to pace back and fourth as she stared Eva down, she would break these chains and she would get close to her mate. She would claim her by the end of the mating season no matter what.

Eva flinched slightly from her reading when Jasper discovered the fruit she'd kicked to her and crushed it with her hand. Things were becoming a little... taunt. If this was only the 3rd day with four more to go, Eva wasn't sure how they'd handle it all. And Jasper afterward... Eva glanced over to the dragon, seeing the blood dripping from her wounds. Her need as a healer had her calling to fix the wounds, but her logical side kept such things at bay. And with them being self-inflicted, she felt it less pressing to heal the body and more so a need to heal the mind. The islander rose quietly from her spot against the wall after watching Jasper's several attempts to get near her. The action would have been endearing if not for the knowledge that she'd likely be forced upon the moment her dragon rider was granted freedom. She took in a breath, still pleasantly surprised her lungs were cooperating so well due to such a rudimentary thing as dragon saliva. To be healed by a dragon... The islander made her way over to their packs and picked out a piece of meat that had been seasoned to last on their journey.

"Jaspah!" she called out before tossing the piece of meat towards the woman. A part of her felt almost satisfied, now seeing Jasper in full regalia of wings and tail, to be tossing meat to her like a beast. The part of her that hated that part of Jasper. The detachment she felt towards the winged creature now that it was clear she was all dragon and no Jasper made it easier to cope with the overwhelming urge to heal the poor creature. She still didn't want to see her suffer, though. After tossing the creature another, rather large, piece of meat, Eva retired back to her spot against the wall and curled up with the book in her hands. And what was she going to do about her daily cool downs now? The further she got from Jasper, the more the dragon screamed. The islander grimaced softly at her thoughts, noticing her options were quite grim.

Jasoer ate the meat like a starving animal, catching it out of the air and shaking her head around like a wild dog before scarfing it down. The second peice took her a little longer since it was much bigger then the first, sitting down and ripping into, chomping down on it loudly as she watched Eva closely. So her mate wanted to play hard to get that was fine, she would just have to break free. She would prove herself worthy.

For the rest of the third day Jasper struggled against her chains, jumping and bucking around like an animal. When she got tired she would rest and lick her wounds as much as she could, she couldn't break free if she bled out that would just be stupid and week. She had to stay strong, she had to prove she was good enough.

On the fourth day Jasper had stopped talking all together, resorting to roaring and blowing smoke as she stomped around wildly. Her claws digging into the floor and walls as she bounced around. Again when she tired she would lay down and lick her wounds, it seemed during these moments of peace her mate seemed to pity her and toss her a few scraps of meat along with a large bowl of water that her mate would push towards her with a long stick. Her mate was smart, if she got to close Jasper wouldnt hesitate in grabbing her and rut her into the floor.

On the fifth day Jasper was nothing but wild strugggling rage, her wounds deep enough to send blood splattering against the wall. She had even resorted to chewing on her chains, the damned things just wouldn't break or give her any hint of weakening. Her mate seemed to enjoy her struggles, was this all a game to the smaller woman!? Did she not understand how painful iy was for her to he so close but so far away!?

On the sixth day Jasper had resorted to blowingnfire at the chains, butbher fire was weak and didn't have the strength to heat the thick melt up. She had rarely used her fire and it caused her to cough wildly. The fire make her throat burn and caused her to lay down and sleep the rest of the day. One more day, one more day to prove to her mate she was worthy of being with her.

The seventh day came and Jasper woke up alone, her mate left her every now and then. She would come back hours later, usually clean and refreshed. Jasper didn't know where she went or why, but it gave her a chance to try and melt her chains again. This time her flame was hot enough to cause the chains to save and fall apart. Grinni g at her work Jasper took a moment and laid down. Now all she had to do was wait, when her mate came back she would finally take wjat was hers

The days were inching by too slowly. The last three days alone were almost enough to drive the poor woman mad. Eva was conflicted with herself. It was made more than clear that Jasper had dragon blood in her, as much as the islander would have rather believed otherwise. But she put stock in Jasper, had started something of a friendship with the woman, and now all of that was supposed to disappear? Eva clutched the book tight in her hands and glanced over at the creature chained to the wall. Her feelings were a mess and the constant struggling from that thing on the wall was just making everything worse. Was there a possibility she had liked Jasper? She didn't know the woman was part dragon when she found her; only that she associated with the beasts. There were enough explanations to account for her horns and tongue, right? Eva curled herself up around the tome and clutched it tighter as the beast thrashed once more against her bindings. She never approved of anything suffering, even that of her enemy, but if she even went near that thing, she was going to be permanently marked and then... The islander stood up suddenly. Unable to even think of the possibilities, she spent the night outside the cave and as far as her responsibilities would allow of her. By the time morning came, she couldn't wait to get down to the river and maybe wade in the water a little longer than necessary.

This was the final day. The tribal healer stared down at her hands floating atop the rather calm side current, the water washing over her palms. She sighed heavily, still uncertain of many things. Eva knew, at least, that she had affection for the amazonian woman; someone that had been through as much shit as they had together, it was hard not to build an appreciation for the person. An appreciation that had long since solidified before the healer had even thought on whether the target of her affections was a dragon or not. The dragon may have selected her as her mate, and from what she read today, it was actually permanent, but she didn't want the dragon at all. Eva plunged her hands into the water and dug her fingers into the mud below her. With her shoulders hunched and her body trembling, she cried away her emotions.

By the time Eva made it back to the cave, her eyes were irritated, but her face was eerily calm and collected. She entered the cave and gave a soft wave to Jasper, barely acknowledging the dragon as she settled into her daily routine of getting their food fixed up. They were starting to run out and the healer had to get crafty with what she presented. Eva wasn't foolish enough to have her back on the creature as she worked, but her focus had been somewhat stunted from her episode at the river and the confusion that still swirled in her head.

Jasper took her time planning her attack, licking her lips she started to stalk towards the woman. The broken chains dragging aling the floor as she smirled. "Mate.." Purringas she walked across the worn line in the floor, she had thrashed so much she had carved a lines into the ground as far as she could reach. Her wings stretching from her back as her tail flicked back amd fourth. She wanted her mate calm, the less fighting they did the longer the could enjoy each other. Soon she pounced on Eva, pinning the woman underneath her. Her hand pinning her mates hands above her head as her other hand ran along rhe womans side. "So soft... So warm.. You're a stromg mate.. Powerful mate.. An you're all mine" growling as she stood up, lifting her mate up by her worsts her tail came around to wrap around her mates small wrists and hold her in the air. "I can't wait to taste you.. I wonder if you taste like fire" she purred as she held the woman up against the cold wall, her nose running along her mates neck. Nipping at the woman's tender flesh as her hands gripped her waist tightly.

When she found the right spot Jasper sank her fangs into Eva's flesh, she was going to mark this woman as her now and forever, with this mark she would be able to find Eva no matter where she was. It was a magical connection for dragons, a way to find their mates no matter what. Jasper moaned as she pressed herself in her mates body wanting to feel every twitch and shiver as she marked the woman.

In the back of Jasper's mind something clicked, jolting back Jasper stared at Eva as blood ran down her chin. Jasper stared st Eva for a several moments before her eyes went wide, dropping the woman and jerking back jasper threw her hands up in fromt of her as she swallowed the lump in her throat. Her wings started to shrink and vanish along with her tail, her cat like eyes slowly returning to normal as she panted heavily. "What.. What have I done.." She whispered as panic filled her mind.

The chain rattling was normal, in fact, Eva was surprised she hadn't heard it earlier with how much Jasper had preferred to saw into her limbs. What wasn't normal was the eerie feeling she was getting rising up inside her. By the time her eyes flashed on the approaching creature, she was already underneath her, staring up into those crimson cat eyes. Pure terror flushed through her system at the realization that all of Jasper's demands would likely be met now. Eva wasn't sure if she was more scared of that or the slight thrill and pleasure she got from the same thought. Immediately, she struggled against the dragon, arching her body and pushing against her skin, even resorting to super heating her skin in any attempt to get the creature off of her. It was all useless, though. Fire did nothing in the wake of a dragon and she didn't have the muscular frame Jasper did to even bother competing physically. Still, she struggled and grunted and tried not to enjoy the way Jasper's claws tickled her sides. Maybe... Maybe she'd just be gentle? Eva cringed softly as that guttural purr of a voice came mewling out once more. "And you're all mine." No, no, no... Rape me if you need to, but for the love of Gods, don't bite me... Her voice was little more than a quiet squeak compared to her thoughts that were blazing a mile a minute. She knew a bite meant a permanent bond and Eva still absolutely refused to acknowledge the beast before her as anything but cursed. Her thoughts were ceased as she felt herself airborn and trading the dust and dirt covered warm earth for the cold and hard cuts of the cave wall. The sting of the wall, however, was nothing compared to the anticipation for what was going to happen. Claws dug softly into her flesh, keeping the islander a lot more stable physically than she was ever going to be mentally. "Jaspah... please dun--!!" Unable to even finish her plea, she felt Jasper's multiple fangs dig into her flesh and though the pain of it was worth crying out over, Eva cried out for an entirely different reason. Pure sadness. Despite the warbled moan that passed her lips towards the end, feeling the other woman's body press against her own, she was easily able to deny even that slight bit of pleasure given to her over the crushing realization that she was now marked.

This was a fact not lost on her mate either, as the more human side of Jasper finally snapped back into place and had the audacity to stare at the masterpiece she made of her travelling companion. Eva's eyes were too blurred and unfocus facing the ground to see Jasper's own horror, but she felt the hard earth give way to her body as she fell in a messy heap of body parts. The islander sat there, slumped like a broken doll against the wall for just a moment longer than comfortable before she, too, snapped back to life. And she was furious. Her jade hues were a figment of the imagination as they were now replaced with her own set of crimson that were currently shooting daggers at the woman in front of her. Gathering herself and controlling her body once more, the islander sprung off the ground and charged after Jasper as the woman backed away. "You.... YOU" Her words were slow coming, but her body language said enough for her. She was livid. With one hand pressed to her neck and the other in Jasper's face, she wasn't through stalking the woman until they were against another wall. But this time, the seven foot tall amazonian woman was the victim in this scenario. "Aye know dat da bite mahk means it'sah permanent t'ing, Jaspah! Aye mean.... bombaclad! Maybeh ya coulda just fucked me! Aye'da maybeh even event'ally liked et. Liked you. Instead ya gotta fuck ovah mai whole life n t'ing." Exasperated, Eva lowered her finger just as her anger started to ebb with the flow of her sadness. The tears burned her eyes and disappated before they could even be shed for the situation; just creating a thick fog about the two. "Jaspah.... why.... it was da last day, mon...." She sounded dejected and broken. So wrapped up in her own anguish, the healer couldn't see how much the act of that dragon was killing its host as well. Or maybe she saw it and chose to ignore it in the wake of all her own feelings. The islander didn't crumble into the dirt, as much as she wanted to, but holding her ground was becoming an impossible task as her legs started shaking. "How did ya... even get free? Da book said ya be safe n' dem chains fer at least two weeks... n'... it said..." Her voice faltered next and the rest of her soon followed, collapsing into the ground again in utter disbelief.

Jasper stopped dead in her tracks When she heard Eva speak, she had fucked upbshe had ruin every ounce of trust and friendship built between them. What made it all worse was her dragon side was proud of it, proud that it had broken free and marked the woman in front of her. Her jaw clenched as she lowered her hands "Why are you getting so upset.. I'm bound to you you're not bound to me. You can ignore the bite and move on. I'm the one that will never be with another! I will pin for you for the rest of my life!" She snapped as she pushed the smaller woman away, sinking to the floor as she wrapped herself up in her wings.

"The mark only meams something to me and other who know what the mark means, other then that you can just say it's a wound you got from battle an idiot monster." She hossed as she ran her hands through her dirt filled hair, grabbing the base of horns and pulling down. All she wanted to do was rip off ever part of her that let the world know what she was.

"The book clearly lied Eva!" Snapping as her wings flarred open, tears already running down her cheeks as she gripped the ground below her. I don't know how I did it I don't even remember anything passed being chained up and going to sleep. The last week has been nothing but an empty fog for me" shebhissed as she looked at her wrists, seeing the dried blood that had run down the length of her arms. "But it looks like I struggled ten harder to get you. So be happy I didn't rape you, be happy you don't have the haunting nightmares of my disgusting hands touching you" she growled as she stood up and walked towards the caves entrance, the chains dragging behind her. "I'm sorry for what I did. I didn't want to force you into anything. " she snapped before walking put the door towards the river.

Eva only registered the woman's words as she was pushed away before having crumbled to the ground. She stayed there, staring at her hands. It was true. Jasper was so much more fucked by this than she was herself. She could go on and pretend the mark was just from a battle like Jasper had mentioned. Her village was too ignorant to realize what the mark meant. It didn't mean other tribes--like the Orcs--were just as blind, though. The rage that filled her was just the knowledge that she was too weak to defend herself against her sworn enemy. That dragon could have done all she wanted if Jasper's humanity hadn't kicked in when it did and that thought scared Eva. She wasn't used to being so helpless, but it seemed to happen time and time again around this dragon rider.

"The book clearly lied Eva!" The islander flinched softly at the words and was left wondering just how much more of the book she'd been clinging to for the last week was all false. Jasper continued in her tirade and as Eva listened, her feelings of rage slowly subsided to sadness once more. But this time it was a sadness for Jasper. For the person who'd been so keen to protect her through all of this, even trying to lock herself down to keep her and everyone else unharmed. An individual, despite the dragon blood, who was still self-sacrificing and was now being burned for something she had no control over. Eva's eyes finally rose to the woman just before she bit off the last part of her sentence in what sounded like disgust, but not for the islander, rather for herself. Eva frowned softly. It wasn't like that at all. At least, she hadn't thought it was. Her emotions were still a mess and she was even more confused than ever. As she watched the dragon rider walk away, there was a mixture of panic and rage that filled her. All she knew was that she didn't want Jasper leaving.

Immediately, as the dragon tried leaving, the islander chased after her and jumped on her back, attempting to talk her to the ground, but knowing she'd likely fail. She gripped around Jasper's through instead and hung on. "Ya dun git ta jus' LEAVE like dat! Ahn apology won't fix what happened!!" No, that wasn't what she wanted to say. What was it she really needed to say? Her grip on the woman tightened, but she knew she was doing little damage to her tough traveling companion. "Ya can't leave, Jaspah..."

Jasper had been ready to leave and disappear, Eva didn't need her and she was only causing the woman nothing but problems. She would just disappear in the middle of the night when the woman was asleep, she would return to the riders and live out the rest of her say alone without her mate. The words caused her to pause, her hand gripping a tree and tears ran down her face. She had found her mate and it was a woman who was sickened by her, What had Jasper done for the world do be so cruel. Last of her kind, picked to be a dragon rider something more and more tribes were starting to hate and then for her dragon to pick someome who jated dragons more then anything just made no sense.

Pulled from her thoughts when she felr Eva land on her back and hold herself tightly to Jaspers body the Dragonian just started laughing, a gut wrenching painful cry as she shook her head. "You don't think I know that? I could have done so many things to you if I got free sooner.. I could have killed you without even knowing. You should know fof all people how much it hurts not being in control of your own body. Having some invisiable force making your choices for you and making you do things you would never wish on your worst enemy" she muttered as she looked over her shoulder at the small gives woman "I thought the chains would hold.. I've never used fire before. It hurts to much for me to breath fire long enough to melt things. So either my inner dragon is getting stronger or I was able to find a weakspot on the chains that melted easier" she grunted as she continued towards the river with Eva on her back, the woman could be her, yell at her, hell she could scream all she wanted. But Jasper wanted a bath and she wanted to get rid of the dirt and from that covered her body.

Maybe, maybe when they cooled off they could sit down and talk about everything. Maybe they could go through the book together and figure out what was a lie and what was the truth. Jasper wanted to learn about herself, she wanted to know what she was in store for as she got older. If she was never going to be with her mate she wanted to know how bad her mating cycles would get each year. She was going to need thicker and heavier chains then before that was for sure. Maybe it would be easier if Eva wasn't close to her, hell she wouldn't even know where the woman would end up when they separated. Jasper wasn't fully sure where Eva's tribe was after all.

Even as she clung to Jasper, her face buried in the woman's mane, she didn't know what she was doing. Why was she still clinging to this poor creature? Hadn't they done enough to each other? Her fingers dug into the woman's flesh ever so slightly as she struggled with her own inner demons. The healer inside her saw a hurt creature she wanted to take care of, to nurture, and her heart had just begun seeing further than that, but it was her head and her stubbornness that kept everything from connecting seamlessly. Jasper started speaking and the islander made a determined effort to listen to her, maybe read between the lines and figure out what was best for the both of them. Jasper spoke of not being in control, a force making choices for you, and making you do things even you would never want. The words hit home and as her dragon rider glanced over her shoulder, Eva saw in the woman's eyes just how much the dragon had broken her humanity. The islander slid off her back, landing on the ground and had Jasper walk a few steps before she started following after quietly. Her eyes were glued to the forest ground, taking account of the rocks and fallen foliage with a focus too concentrated to be believable. She just couldn't--didn't want--to look up and see Jasper broken. She'd been trapped inside her body once before thanks to the spirit that resided within her and knew how helpless it could feel. At least the dragon rider couldn't recall the last few days or else she might have felt even worse the way her dragon side called to Eva. She reached up and felt the bite on her neck, her thumb rubbing over it softly in thought.

When they'd finally got to their destination, Eva sat on the riverbank as she watched Jasper wade into the water. It felt weird to have it the other way around for once. Whether the woman was going to disrobe what bits of clothes she had on or not, the islander looked away regardless, her face a slight flush of pink. It would be rude, no, it'd be a downright shitty thing to do if she was to even hint at the possible feelings she had sprouting for the human side of Jasper. After everything the woman had been through already and with Eva still being unsure and still hating the dragon side of her companion, it'd be more harmful than anything to say something now. She bit her bottom lip and curled her legs into her body, watching the water's surface play with the shapes of her toes dangling in the water.

There was something Jasper had been so sure about before when they first met, but she'd never got a chance to explain because Eva had shut her down so royally back then. Now, with an aching need just to understand anything and find some semblance of truth in all the lies that had been thrown at her, the islander found her eyes leading back to Jasper and discovered her voice once more along the way. "What cause da lava... ef not de dragons? What sonofabitch caused children ta burn dat night, or houses aye seen mai whole life go up in flames? Wah gwann wit dat night, Jaspah?" It was the question she had refused to ask even as the doubt built up in her heart over the years. Just as she had built up walls of rock to save what was left of her people, she had built up her ignorance and stubbornness to see anything but what she wanted to see. But she saw now that that way of life was hurting those around her. And she might of built her whole life on hunting beasts that just wanted to help them. Eva almost knew the answer, had already thought of the possibilities years ago. She was too smart to be that stupid.

Jasoer continued to push through the forest, barely noticing Eva slipping off of her back. She didn't stop when she heard the woman walking behind her. She had a lot on her mind, she was to tired to argue, to tired to raise her voice and to tired to even try fighting the woman behind her. When they arrived at the river Jasper stripped of her clothes and wadded into the water. Shivering slightly as the cold water wash over her body, the dirt and blood that covered her form washing away. She turned to face Eva, watching her closely as she watched the inner struggle go through the woman, she was waiting for the question and when Eva finally had the nerve to ask it Jasper could only shake her head.

"You know the answer Eva. It wasn't the dragons that caused your village to burn, it was something else. Something that could have trigger the accident to find a willing host to take over. What if it's the spirit that lives with in you? What if the very thing that saved your village was the thing that tried to destroy it. After all, spirits are tricky caniving little demons that want nothing more then to ruin lives and get human form in this world." She explained as she tried to get the shackle of her wrist, hissing as the dried blood peeled from her skin causing the wound to bleed again.

Jasper gave her the answer she needed to hear and even more for the islander to chew on. As the woman continued to explain the situation, Eva started getting a sinking feeling in her gut that she was right about all of it. And for some reason, it made her... mad? The islander downcast her face into the crevice between her body and her knees, wrapping her arms around her head as if she could curl up any smaller and just disappear all together. This was madness. There was no reason for her to be angry right now. If Jasper was right, and Eva knew in her soul that she was, then there should be no more hatred for the dragons. So why was she so aggravated? The only logical thing she could think of was the aggravation she felt of herself. She'd slaughtered countless dragons under an oath that was misguided, leading her people to do the same against a legion of people that were sworn to protect. How often had Jasper protected her when it would have been better for her to flee and leave her? Still, she was angry even beyond that and it made no sense. As if something else was trying to pull the strings and make her confused. She grimaced softly, stashing away the last bits of what Jasper had said. It was too much to think on right now. One life changing realization at a time.

Eva glanced up in time to see Jasper bleeding again as she struggled with the shackles. Seeing the blood spared the islander the chance to get embarrassed over Jasper's naked form as she easily let her healer persona slide into place and ran over to the dragon rider. Gesturing for the woman's hand, she pressed her own against the open wound and let the heat of her skin seal it shut before then carefully removing the shackles. But before she could effectively finish cutting through one of them, she felt something hit the back of her head and bounce off. With a hiss of pain, she reached and rubbed her head, her hand only coming away bloody after the fact. Eva, already not in the mood, turned to face the direction of the throw with a fire in her eyes. The water around her bare feet already quickly evaporated and started rushing around her form instead. What she was faced with, though, was a small girl. Despite being roughly the same height of Eva, she was likely in her early teens. Her skin was tanned and marred from hard labor while her eyes shone bright blue and her waist length hair was a dirty brown and put up in a style native to the village they had just stayed in.

"Leave her alone," the girl stated, standing her ground with a heavy glare towards Eva. Confused, the islander let the added heat of her skin dissipate; she wasn't going to fight a child. Hoping the child was just misguided, Eva started walking towards her with a sad smile. "Hey there.... kid. I think you're a little mista--" Her sweet sounding sentence was cut off with another throw of a rock that Eva caught this time and plunged into the river with agitation. "You're a dragon killer! And you're going to kill her too!" The girl hissed, raising her slingshot for another blow as Eva slowly approached her. The rock in the sling was odd shaped, looking more like a small bag. The girl knew even if the bag was caught, it would explode instantly in the islander's hand and blind her, as was her original intention; then she could take the dragon and run away from here. "You've captured this dragon when they're really peaceful and loving creatures! They just want to help!" Eva sighed and rubbed at her eyes before pausing before the girl. "Listen... I haven't captured this woman..." Unwilling to hear any more, the girl fired off the special shot in Eva's direction.

Jasper froze in her place as Eva came towards her, she expected the woman to slap her, to scream at her. To tell her that everything she said was a lie, she expected Eva to claim the spirit was a great gift that helped save her village. But it never came, the small woman just helped remove the shackles and seal her wounds. Sighing softly as she put her hands under the water to make sure they were clean of most of the dirt and grim. Jolting her eyes flashed as she shot up amd stared at the same girl on the edge of the river.

"Wait wait wait, she hasn't captured me. I'm free to do what I want when I want." She muttered as she moved to get to the edge of the water to stop the woman shooting her rocks, but when the girl loaded her sling shot with a bag Jasper moved quickly. "Eva look out!" Her arm blocking Eva as Jasper jumped her front, the ag slamming into Jaspers face as white powder covered her eyes. Falling back Jasper cried out as she felt a fiery burning sensation running through her eyes, fire erupted from Jasper mouth as she tried to protect herself out of instinct. The small village girl panicking as she turned to run fleeing away from the raging fire the dragon could save heraelf with ease, smoke soon erupted from Jaspers throar as she burned herself out. Jasper fall back into the water trying to wash her eyes out, nothing stopping the horrible burning

Staying under the water for as long as she could Jasper broke the water surface gasping for air and she frantically looked around, her once amber eyes now looking a milk grayish white. Jasper stood up as she continued to spin in a small circle looking around. "I.. I can't .. Eva.. Eva I can't see!" She snapped as she started to spin wildly reaching up to touch her face her eyes wide open as she continued to try and see anything possible.

As if on queue now, Jasper had managed to push herself in front as the target again and suffered for it. Whatever was in that bag intended for Eva had been splashed all over Jasper's face instead. The girl, having gotten the wrong target, and then horribly freaked out over the reaction of someone she considered a hero, ran back to the village in horror. Meanwhile, Eva looked on, unsure what to do for Jasper as she panicked and cleaned off her face, even dunking her head under the water for long intervals. What was in that powder? The islander frowned when she saw Jasper's eyes, already knowing what the poor woman was going to say before she said it. Eva jogged over and gingerly placed her hand on the dragon's shoulder, hoping the woman wouldn't lash out at her, but prepared for if she did. "Jaspah... calm down. The powdah's alreadeh worked into ya system, mon. The... the struggling is only gonna make it worse..." At least that was her experience with such concoctions. "Ef aye can find some of dat on da ground, aye can maybe find'ah cure..." It was a long stretch, but maybe it was doable. The first order of business, however, was to calm Jasper down. "Jaspah, let's git ya outta da river and..." The woman paused, looking down at the woman's body for the first time with, ironically, clear vision. Of course she had to be stunning. "Git ya clothed...." she muttered, finishing her sentence. "Fallah mai voice, aye'll lead ya." She placed the dragon rider's hand on her shoulder and started guiding her from the water, mention whenever there was a hill or slope until they were back at her clothes. Eva refused to look back until the woman was clothed again. "Aye'll gatha the bits n' you git dressed." She started scouring the forest floor for any more of that powder, but it seemed to be a fruitless endeavor.

Jasper stopped thrashing when she felt Eva touch her shoulder, pabting heavily as she put her hand on top of Evas. "How am I suppose to be calm.. I got blinded by a stupid child" she muttered as she took slow steps behind Eva, testing each spot before putting her full weight down. When the finally reached the edge Jasper used her foot to slowly search the ground for her pants. Her hair clinging to her back as the water continued to drip from her body. It took her a few long minutes before she grabbed her pants and figured out which way they belonged, taking twice as long with her tattered shirt. When she was dressed she cleared her throat, her ears focusing on all the noises around her. Soon she turned to face Eva and walk towards her "Were.. Were you able to find some of the powder? Or do we need to go back to the cave and take some time to regroup?" There was no way for her to leave now, she couldn't go walking through the forest without being to see. She needed something to focus on, something to guide her. She needed Eva more then ever now, she needed the healer to take care of her.

Eva continued to search the ground in vain as it didn't appear any of the product had even reached the grass. Still, she searched quietly, refusing to tear her eyes away from the ground as the woman got dressed beside her. When it sounded like Jasper was clothed and walking toward her, Eva sighed softly. "Not'in' here..." she whispered, slowly raising herself from the ground and wiping off the dust. She muttered a few soft curses under her breath as she rubbed the small wound on the back of her head. In a matter of moments, the open wound was sizzled shut at the expense of yet another scar, but at least this one was hidden in her own thick mane of dreads. "Jaspah, stay still, aye need ya face." It was a vague explanation, but soon the islander was on the tip of her toes and inspecting the woman's face while she cradled it in her hands. Ignoring the way her heart immediately started to beat faster staring at Jasper this close, she let the woman for after a few moments with a sad sigh. "Not'ing. Der be nuttin' on ya face aye can use ettah." Eva folded her arms over herself and rubbed at her arms. "Regroup et is. Follow mai voice, Jaspah, aye'll walk slow fer ya, copa?" She took the dragon rider's hand once more and placed it on her shoulder. True to her word, she tried to get Jasper back with as few tumbles as possible.

Once the cave was in sight, she guided Jasper to sit down in the nest she'd made herself and went about searching the sacks for certain herbs. If she couldn't figure out what the crap was, perhaps she could at least reverse it still. "Aye might have somet'ing in here ta help ya, or at least calm ya. Ef aye can't heal et, aye'll make da journey back to da village and git dat girl..." She ended with a growl, fully knowing the journey was a day's trip, but she didn't care. Her worry only rested with whether Jasper would be okay by herself. The islander paused rustling in her sacks for a long moment as she wrestled with the next suggestion and whether to even ask it. "Jas.... nnngh. Jaspah. Wat about ya.... ya dragon side. Es her senses more... attuned? Maybeh ya can tap inta her to help enhance yaself?" Asking her to purposely present her dragon was both a frightening and draining task. Eva was still coming to terms with the fact that Jasper was likely right, at least about the dragons. But it was years and years of suppressed rage and faulty action that guided the islander's habits and they weren't going to go away just over night. The likelihood that Jasper even felt comfortable enough to do so around Eva was unlikely anyway. The woman was injured and couldn't see, so if she needed to defend herself against Eva, it would have been a harder task. This was a situation Eva knew wouldn't happen, but also didn't bring up for fear of Jasper's reaction.

When Eva started touching Jaspers face the large dragonain knelt down slightly to make it easier for the woman to look over her face. A soft purr escaping her throat as she relaxed into the touch, she didn't want to admit it but it felt nice to have Eva touching her without the fear of pinning her to the ground and ruining her in every way. When Eva pulled away Jasper whimpered slightly while she stood up, rolling her shoulders as she tried to get the knots out of her neck. "I can only follow your voice if you keep talking" she teased as she held the woman's shoulder tightly not wantong to loose Eva on the way back to the cave. "We're gonna have to track that girl down aren't we? The only way for you to find a cure is to know what she blinded me with isn't it?" She asked while moving to sit down in her nest, it felt weird not being able to see a damned thing. How did creatures do this?

When Eva asked about tapping into her dragon side Jasper choked on her spite. "Why.. Why would you want to deal with that side of me again and so soon.. She just went away" she muttered as she rubbed the back of her neck swollowing the lump in her throat coughing slightly as she tried to clear her throat again. "It.. It would make ot easier to follow you but I would go a little primal again. An I would.. Well how do I put thism.. I might be overly touchy and want to be around you.. Alot more.. And I wont understand personal space at all.. " she murmured as she started to ramble not sure how to explain everything to Eva. It would be the smart choice, but Jasper was worried about everything that would involve.

The reaction in Jasper was almost comical if Eva was anywhere near a mood to laugh. Even now, the dragon rider was still worrying over her rather than herself. Gathering the few herbs and her pestle, Eva gave up on the rest of the pack and came to kneel down in front of Jasper as she mixed her tiny concoction. Once it was finished, she took some on her fingertips and gently instructed the amazonian. "Lean down fer me, Jaspah..." She paused until the woman complied and then continued to explain with a ginger touch to Jasper's face, not wanting to spook the woman with any unwarranted touching. "Dis will get ridda whatevah burnin' be left n' der." Softly, she smeared the mixture under the dragon rider's eyes so that the soothing chemicals would rise up and relieve the pressure. Eva stared a moment longer at the woman before falling back on her knees and letting go of her, signalling she was done. Jasper went further to convey exactly what might happen should she tapped into her dragon form, but it was all information the islander had assumed would happen based on the previous experience. She knew the creature would at least not be maddened with lust, but all the other symptoms were likely just escalated states of what was already there. Eva kept her eyes on the ground for a while before letting out a heavy sigh. "Aye know all dis. She was.... very demanding. While ya went away. Baht aye'm sure dis will help ya and den aye won't mind ya travelin' wit me when aye go to see dat girl again. Cause yes, we will hafta get da cure from her. All aye can do right now is lessen the discomfort. Jus'..." Eva faultered a moment to get her voice in order so she wouldn't sound like she was begging the woman with the next bit. "Jus' try not ta let her... take over completely. It isn't matin' season anymore. Ya should have some control. Jus' don't be gone too long, copa?" A part of her was still truly frightened. Blind or not, Jasper was still able to easily overpower her. Part of her liked the thought of all that affection, but she wanted it from the woman before her, not the creature she was mated with. Eva chuckled softly, realizing just how fucked up this whole situation had been. "Aye'm sorry the chains weren't strong enough, Jaspah..." she murmured, almost hoping the woman hadn't heard her, but still feeling the need to say it. She'd fucked up the woman's whole life the moment she tried to kill the dragon she was riding.

Jasper sighed as she leaned down giving Eva the space she needed to work, shivering softly Jasper tried to stay still as she felt the woman touching her face. Her eye twitching as she felt the cooling sensation washing over her eyes. "That.. That feels so much better" she whispered softly as her eyes closed for a few minutes. "If.. If you want to let her out I'm going to give you a couple hints. Remember that my horns are a weak spot, grab them and yank them if you need her to stop amd two, belly rubs. But I'm sure you know those already" she muttered as she moved to sit down, closing her eyes and taking a long deep breath as she started to connect.

Soon Jaspers eyes opened, her wings stretching from her back returning to full size, a tail appearing again. Licking her lips Jasper whined softly, sniffing the air her tail thrashed along the floor. "Why.. Why can't I see.. Mate.. I can smell you, but I can't see you.." Her voice was lower a little more gruff as she tried to figure out what happened. Taking a deep breath Jasper soon focused on listening to Eva's heart beat. A small smile appearing as she started moving towards Eva, soon standing behind her. "Found you..." She whispered as she put her hands on Eva's shoulders gently.

Eva gave a small smile at Jasper's relief, just happy that she could help the woman even that little bit. It seemed she hadn't heard her apology, at least. It only saved Eva some of her own ego that she could happily lose at this point. She nodded softly when Jasper mentioned the two ways to possibly control her dragon side and armed with such knowledge, she felt a little safer in giving the dragon rider the space she might of needed to summon the dragon. When it happened, Eva seized up for a moment and just watched the dragon as she paced and came out her surroundings. At least she hadn't reacted negatively to being blind. But didn't she already know she was blind? Eva had been under the impression that the two pieces of Jasper were still connected, at least on some fundamental level, but if her dragon didn't even realize they were blind yet... The islander shivered softly. Was Jasper not in there at all now? It was her turn to swallow the massive lump forming in her throat now. If dragons weren't all that bad, she had nothing to fear, riiiight? "Found you..." Eva instantly shrunk at the sound behind her. This was a more docile Jasper than before, but all she could remember was the way the dragon pinned her. She reached up to rub softly at the mark on her neck before turning to face her new... friend. "Hey... Jaspah. ya got blinded by ah girl we need ta find, okay? She lives ina village about a days journey away. We'll be leavin' by sunrise. Can ya handle that?" Her confidence slowly rose with each passing word until her stance had all the wrinkles of worry pressed out of it. "When we get der, we jus' gonna question da girl, copa? Aye dun want anyone hurt or aye'll be upset wit ya." She attempted to set ground rules, her voice firm and unwavering despite the fast beating of her heart.
