As his human began crying, Torren gathered him close and moved over to one of the chairs finally, sitting down so he could hold Ko on his lap. One hand gently stroked his hair, wishing he were more reassured by the boy's whispered promises. All the vampire felt was that he had finally found someone to call his own, someone he genuinely cared about, and it seemed he might lose him already.

Pressing kisses to Kojaku's hair, he tried to pay attention as the doctor continue, looking up at her suddenly with an offended glare. "Of course I would care for him," he growled, arms tightening around his precious human. "Ko would not need to work at all if he did not wish. If this medicine is beneficial for him, I will be sure he has all he needs to recover. All of the expenses will be covered by my family," he assured her. They had more than enough money and very little to do with it.

Dr. Macntosh smiled. "thats good." she smiled. "i am glad to hear that, but Ko also needs a nurse to occasionally check in on him. Along with strict pill restrictions. He has tennancies to hurt himself and overdose." Ko trembled tensely. He whispered inaudibly, twitching and crying.

His throat caught and he coughed hard against the vamps shoulder. "Tor, i-im fine!" he cried softly.

"when would he be moving to live with you. The sooner the better." the doctor wrote something down.

Torren was glad that with the way Ko was buried against him, the little human couldn't see the confused and faintly shocked expression that crossed his face as the doctor explained that he would need to be watched closely. "Of course," he whispered. "I - I'm available to be with him all day and will follow whatever suggestions you have."

Stroking Ko's hair gently, he bent his head to murmur against his ear, "Shh.. the doctor is just being sure you get the care you need." Tor knew this might be embarrassing for Kojaku, but it was important that he know as much as possible so he could actually help him.

Turning his attention back to Dr. Macntosh, he lifted an eyebrow as he said, "Anytime. He could move in today if he liked. It would be nothing for me to arrange to have his belongings moved, but that is entirely Ko's decision." Though if Ko argued against it, that would just mean the vampire staying in his apartment until he agreed.

"That would be ideal. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. Its my job to help him but some of my patients arent able to get help they need. It relieves me to know that Kojaku finally has someone to look after him..." Dr. Macntosh smiled warmly. "Ive been working with him since he was ten. He truly is my favorite patient... I would love to see him get better."

Ko nodded into the vampires shoulder and mumbled. "Today... Torren... Today, please..." He pressed lips to the vampires throat. "I dont want to be alone again... I want to get better."

Dr.Macntosh gave a nod. "Now... the side affects of the medicine are not in fact fatal themselves. Just mild dizziness and maybe cold like symptoms, but if he takes too many it could be fatal. They cause an increase in depression so he will have to be given strict doses of two a day- one during breakfast one at lunch."

Ten. Torren didn't know how old Kojaku was now, but it was a great deal older than ten, which meant he had been sick for many years. Not just weeks or even months... years. He held the human a little tighter with that realization. It sounded like a miracle that the poor boy had even survived this long. Tor would have to be certain to find a more appropriate way to thank Dr. Macntosh in the future, but for now he could only nod and say, "Thank you for caring for him."

Closing his eyes, the vampire threaded his fingers through Ko's hair. "Today it is," he promised. "Everything will be taken care of." Torren was already going over in his mind exactly who he needed to speak to once they reached the estate. His father. He would rather avoid that, but it was impossible to avoid in this case. Rowan didn't need to be involved, nor Grayson. His rooms were on the opposite side of the estate from theirs, so there was no reason for them to even interact with Ko.

"Two each day, one with breakfast and one with lunch," he repeated. He could remember that. Rubbing his cheek against Kojaku's, he leaned back a little to look at him. "How long would he need to take them?"

The human began crying again, his fingers gripping the vamps shirt tightly. "Torren... To..." he calmed again and yawned, trying to hide it within the other males neck.

The doctor checked her sheet. "I dont know... These pills arent deadly but they do work slowly. Based on his condition today if he started them now then he would be better in less than a year, maybe a bit more than that, but he would..." she hesitated. "He would live longer than we first thought."

This made Ko freeze. His body tensed as he looked over his shoulder at the doctor. "Wha-what?" he thought it was a cruel joke for a moment, eyes wide and mouth open slightly. The thought of living made him feel a bit stupid. He'd thought for so long that he had too many problems to fix... Now that this was introduced it changed everything. "I...m..." he began crying again, burying his face in the already damp spot on Torrens shoulder.

"It will allow him to live a normal life- once he's done with his pill regimen. It may come back, the allergies and sickness, but it will be less severe and easier to treat. More like a cold than what he has now." Dr. Macntosh smiled. "He'll be able to get married and live with you- if you two are that serious that is. He'll be able to watch his kids graduate and such..."

This just made Ko cry harder, murmuring that he would be okay. That they would be okay.

It was all a lot of information for the normally reclusive vampire to absorb, but he was doing his best to remember each thing the doctor said so that he could help Kojaku to the best of his abilities. Torren didn't understand how a simple pill could cure Ko; he had seen how forceful his coughing fits could be, after all. It would worth trying if they could prolong his life though. A year was no time at all compared to all the years that would follow if they worked. Tor nodded eagerly to the doctor's words, cuddling Kojaku close.

"Of course. That's all I want, for him to be okay," he murmured. Pressing his cheek to Ko's hair, Torren gently rubbed his slender back. "I would say that this was all good news. You're going to be okay and you're not going to be alone anymore." Neither would he. All those days spent by himself, avoiding the obligations his family tried to place on him, ignoring the unspoken things between them... Torren could put all of that aside for a while and simply focus on caring for his human. "Ko can have anything he wants in life. We'll be sure he lives long enough to enjoy it all," Torren murmured, voice low and full of promise.

Standing up, he kept Kojaku in his arms. "Where do we get this medication?" The vampire looked around the room, blue eyes searching for the bottle that might be the one for Ko, unaware of how doctors and pharmacies worked. These things were far simpler with vampires, in that the few illnesses they were susceptible to were magical in nature and could never have been cured with a bottle of pills.

"Here..." The doctor grabbed a perscription paper and filled it out. Ko pulled away from his lover and took the paper, sniffling. "You go get this from your pharmacy. I'll call in and make sure they know its you. I hope you get better faster than i expect. After all, you are my favorite patient." she smiled sadly. "I'll see you in a week, same time, to talk about your other problem..." she tapped her own wrists. "Let me see before you leave."

Ko nervously pulled up his sleeves and showed his scarred wrists to Dr. Macntosh. "The-they're all better..." he muttered, slinking and cuddling against Torren nervously. She gently ran a finger over his fresher scars and nodded.

"The stitches did heal nicely." She let him go and he shook his sleeves back down. "Make sure you get your prescription. You need to rest a lot while on these pills. The instructions will be on the bottle. Torren." She looked seriously at the vampire. "These pills. They will kill him if he overdoses." She cleared her throat. "If he's feeling depressed, keep them out of his reach. If he hasnt taken his pills, give them to him. I need him to get better."

Ko whimpered softly. "I wont... I wouldnt do that..." he clutched the prescription and nodded seriously. "I'll be okay..." his extra hand slid down to take Torrens and squeeze it. "Come on... the sooner we get this the sooner i can move in..." he mumbled softly.

Torren watched as Ko took the paper, the words written on it not ones that made sense to him, though they looked like some kind of shorthand. Humans were forever trying to find ways to save time; he suspected it was because they had so little of it in which to live their lives. He couldn’t help thinking that there were things they truly missed out on while they were so busy trying to ‘live’, in a rush to get from one moment to the next.

His gaze slid over the scars Kojaku held out for the doctor to inspect, silent as he held him close. Looking up sharply when he heard his name, the vampire gave a curt nod. “Of course,” he practically growled. Did she not understand that he would take care of Ko now? That Ko was important to him? He would have done anything to keep him from harm.

Returning the gentle squeeze Kojaku offered, Torren gave the doctor a final once-over before they left, easily recalling the way back to the lobby. It was busier now than before, the sharp scent of blood distinct on one patient in particular, drawing his attention for just a moment before they were outside, only fresh air filling his senses. “Alright, Kojaku. Let’s find this pharmacy,” he said softly.

Ko Began pulling at Torrens shirt needily, eyes closing as he calmed breathing that was never at rest. "Ah... Its easy to find. Just down the street from here." he tugged at the other males clothing lightly again, wanting to stop for a second. He wasnt used to going out for anything but work, and this was exhausting him already. "Lets... hurry up... Im tired..." he muttered, pulling his mask down from his nose to lean up and nuzzle Tors neck.

Once they'd exited into the street, Ko began padding down the sidewalk, having walked this path so many times before. His eyes were weary, but his steps didnt falter as he led the other male into a small store, walking to the back of it and ringing a small bell, humming softly. A woman appeared on the other side of the counter and after brief hello's Ko handed her the little paper.

She took it to a back room and came back with a small paper bag carrying three pill bottles with large, red pills inside. "Here you go, Mr. Najimi! Payment due next month hun." Ko nodded numbly and pressed to Torrens side, Muttering.

"Lets go... Please... I just want to sit down..." he mumbled softly. His dark eyes were lidded, all the energy drained from his body by the disease that would soon be flushed from his body. "Im ready to go... Whether thats to your house or to my apartment, i just wanna lay down and take a nap..." he whispered with a yawn, gripping his medicine with decisive need.

Torren stopped to glance down when he felt the tug on his shirt, eyebrows drawn together in worry. Kojaku looked drawn and pale, yet wanted to hurry. Well, he reasoned, the sooner they got the medicine the sooner Ko could relax once more. Nodding decisively, the vampire kept an arm around his companion to offer support as they followed the sidewalk to a store with an Rx painted in white on one of the wide front windows. It didn’t make sense to Torren, but the moment they stepped inside, the chemical smell that had been faint in the doctor’s office seemed to be flaunted here.

He tilted his head with the bell Ko rung, quietly observing the exchange and curious as to what exactly the bag contained. The pills, surely, but there was no further magic involved? Just an ordinary bag? Dropping a kiss on top of Kojaku’s head, Torren held him close as he led them back outside. One hand lifted to shield his eyes from the sunlight as he glanced around, spotting in the distance the forrested crest of the hill his family lived atop of. Kojaku couldn’t walk that far...

“Here,” he nodded, guiding the boy over to a bench and offering him a hand up. It would look a little less peculiar if he carried Ko on his back. Cars would have been an option if Tor had ever ridden in one, but alas, the scents and sounds of the contraptions were nauseating enough when they passed him on the street. He certainly did not want to ride in one.

The tiny male climbed easily onto the vampires back, arms slipping around his neck securely and chin resting where it wanted right there on Torrens shoulder. "Mmthankoo, Torren..." he thanked softly, too exhausted to really think straight. His Breath warmed the other males cheek and he purred in pleasure at the feeling of his weight being taken up. He loved Torrens care...

His legs squeezed the other males hips and the human mumbled. "I wont fall asleep... I'll wait for you..." he muttered and purred again, tired but forcing himself to stay awake. Being at the cafe was fine but going to the pharmacy, with such a flood of adrenaline, it drained him. "As soon as i get... to where we're going... I can take my first dose, alright...?" he nuzzled Tors neck and smiled tiredly, ignoring the strange looks that would usually gain him a bit of anxiety.

Instead, he was enthused. His happiness was mounting with what he was doing with Torren. "Torren... Ai... You're amazing." he punctuated the sudden affection with a kiss on Torrens neck, then promptly passed out, going limp on Torrens back and snoring softly in his ear.
