    Moderator Positions - CLOSED
    • Q: What is your main staff philosophy?

A: Many site staffs refer to themselves as a family, but we take a slightly different approach. First and foremost, BDRP staff is a TEAM. On a team, everyone has to communicate and pull their weight for the good of the team. We think of the site as a whole/the community as our “family.” The team has to stay strong and active so they can make sure the family’s “home” is well managed and taken care of.

      Q: Why the team approach?
This came out of past experiences for a lot of us on previous staffs. Many of us had previous experiences where staff members who weren’t active or helpful were kept on because “staff” was a family. We want staff to be a team where players can come and go, based on what is best for them as an individual and the team as a whole. A family is forever, but teams need members who are active, involved and ready to pull their weight.

Q: What are the expectations for staff?
A: Staff is expected to be both professional and active on the forum. We have more extensive expectations outlined and they will be given to you if you are offered the staff position, so you can know exactly what we expect before accepting. We also use Discord frequently for staff communication and discussions, so please be aware of that when applying.

Q: I turned in my application, can I ask how it’s going?
A: You can, but it is usually just best to wait until staff has come to a decision. Pressuring staff could actually hurt your chances. We will always do our best to give you a timely answer, but it may take a couple of weeks to process your application.

    • Moderator - 2 Positions Open
Please Note: You must be an active member for at least 1 month to apply for staff positions. We ask this because it helps ensure you will continue to be active on the forum. If you have been on the forum for less than a month, we suggest you seek out a Community Helpers position first, that way you can show your activity level and commitment to helping the forum out.

The people chosen for these positions will work with an admin for a short period of time as they settle into the role and learn more about how our forum moderation settings work. Each person will also be subject to a 1-month probationary period, to ensure they are the right fit for our team.

Moderator - Discord Moderator (1 Position Open)
Duties: This position will require you to help us monitor the site's Discord server and help us maintain a friendly and welcoming environment. Discord Mods must be able to judge situations in real-time and act to ensure the well-being of members. We do our best to be hands-on in discord, without being intrusive or abrupt, when issues arise.

This position requires the individual to be active and available to assist in tasks such as; engaging new members, helping build a positive and uplifting community, and responding to occasional reports. You do not need to be on the forum or in discord 24/7, but a good level of activity is helpful. Moderators on BDRP are self-directed and self-motivated. We often collaborate as a team, but we also ask that you are able to lead your self and think creatively.

Skills required: A Discord account, current activity in the BDRP discord, a professional and kind demeanor when dealing with difficult situations.

Applications will remain open until the positions needed are filled. Please see the application tabs in each area for more information on where you should submit your applications. Thanks!

    Seeking Community Helpers!
    • Q: Who are the Community Helpers?
Community Helpers are volunteers who assist the staff with a wide range of tasks. Some help run our social media, help with events and matchmaking, create guides, or create site graphics. They also help foster a fun, welcoming place for all members to enjoy. All Community Helpers are members who simply want to give back to our community. In addition to having their own color on site to honor them, the Community Helpers receive a special medal and have an extra forum on the site for their work.

Please click here if you'd like to learn about our current Community Helpers!

Q: How involved should the Community Helpers be?
It depends on the position of the Community Helper. Those helping with social media are expected to be active on their respective site every three to five days. Those assisting with Writing Support work together to post a guide about once a month and are active at least once a week on the Writer's Workshop forum. Matchmakers need to be active on-site at least every couple days for matchmaking. The Images Team works closely with the events and showcases, so their activity level varies.

Q: What else will I be expected to do in addition to my Community Helper position?
We often ask our Community Helpers to assist us with welcoming new members, participating in site events, and searching for art and writing showcases to display on various social media. They should also be active in the discussions that take place in our Community Helper forum.
