Receptionists really are invisible, Nat thought wryly, as no one - perhaps bar Danya who’d been wrinkling her brow in apparent confusion at the sight of Marion - had seemed to even register, that they’d been greeted by someone different than who was currently at the desk. Maybe they just weren’t particularly observant. Except for Daniel; he was excused, as he had indeed only seen Marion (the fact that Marion had ripped him off still tickled Nat something fierce).

Nat eyed Conrads hand. “Nice to meet you,” she said, but didn’t move to take his hand. “We can shake on it when you take the job.” She didn’t like handshakes on a good day, and even less so when it would give someone (slightly) bigger and stronger than her a point of contact, if they had ill-intentions. She didn’t call him out on his use of a fake name then, because if they couldn’t manage to work together, then it was a reasonable precaution for him to take anyway. She was pleased that he’d complied and removed both phone and gun - she was also pleased that she hadn’t even noticed him wearing it. Unlike Jaxon and Daniel who had seemed a bit more obviously armed.

Bay slipped silently to the counter and put down phone, a knife and a capped vial with a clear green liquid in it. Seemed like she’d been right about that one; following in her parents footsteps and working towards becoming a chemist, but still new enough that she had yet to get caught in anything. By someone who wasn’t Nat, anyway.

While they were moving to comply Jaxon threw what Nat could best describe as a tantrum, cracking the desk and making a mess in the process.

Nat felt weary when he then went on to criticise the *others* for their lack of professionalism. “I’d be disappointed if you trusted anyone,” she said, voice devoid of any sort of humour. Most people were utterly convinced that she had none. They weren’t entirely wrong.

“And since you mentioned it; yes, I would like you to remove your boots as well.” Before he’d mentioned it she hadn’t considered to ask it of him (what was he going to do? Kick them?), but when he moved away without waiting for an answer to his provocative-almost-mocking question she decided that yes, actually, she did want him to remove his shoes.

She’d moved forward so the now cracked desk (she was sure Jaxon or ‘Rex’ as he apparently liked to be called, though who he expected to want to call him by a nickname after he’d called them all idiots was beyond her). Mostly he seemed to be trying to stir shit - it was the only logical reason for him to be doing… whatever it was he was doing, trying to provoke everyone. The way he seemed to be watching them all and not being particularly subtle about it, only seemed to underscore this. She really hoped no one would fall for his middle-school tactics (if such they were), as she patiently waited for him to take off his shoes. Now he wouldn’t be able to go with them, if he kept them on.

While they waited Isaac seemed to hesitate. He’d dried a bit, but she could still smell the unwashed, yet wet, clothes he was wearing. He’d pulled his bandana back up over the lower part of his face again. The look in his eyes seemed to be clearly hostile.

“Please remove your scarf, Mr. Ashworth,” she said to him.

He’d been the last - or almost last - to arrive. She couldn’t see Velma anywhere. Had she bailed or was she lurking elsewhere? Nat didn’t want to raise the alarm if she’d only slipped to the bathroom.

She decided to wait a little.

Isaac hesitated, but did as asked. He put his bag on the desk along with a phone and his scarf, not quite managing to hide the way his expression spoke of disgust, a furrow around his mouth and a small wrinkling of his nose.

He stepped back after. There was something off about him, but she wasn’t entirely sure what, but with so many people in the room, she couldn’t keep an eye on him exclusively.

Conrad watched as everyone complied with the lady's request. When the big guy slammed his fists into the desk top, Conrad didn't even flinch; hell, he'd seen guys get their fingers busted with ball peen hammers in Vegas just for cheating the house at cards - even witnessed a guy get shot standing next to him for doing the same thing. The con artist looked at the lady in charge to see her reaction and she didn't even bat an eye - whoever she was, he liked her moxy!

Without hesitation, Conrad raised an eyebrow and said, "And we're the amateurs? I'm pretty sure THAT'S why there weren't any private audiences allowed on this little tour." Conrad kept an eye on the group assembled because some of them seemed pretty shady, even to a not-so-common thief. He still wanted to hear what this get-together was about, but he also thought there could also be some trouble brewing.

What played out before her eyes, no one could have seen coming, though she guessed she should have expected some fireworks when there being so many people called to the same place with just some vague letter to go on. Really, who in their right mind would have turned up to where that dodgy note had called them to, putting full trust in the creep that had somehow broken in and left the note where they'd found it. From what Danya had caught of the conversation between some of the people back in the room it was never in an easily accessible place and Danya knew from finding her own letter that the place it had been left was highly personal with the words of the letter being much the same.
Even if it was just her name, Danya knew that no one on the seedy under belly side of society knew her name. Not her real name anyway. She went by 'Ghost' when she'd been asked to help out for jobs before. Sure, sounded like a bit of a silly name when she'd first decided to introduce herself as that but it had never started out as her idea. Someone had claimed when they saw her in some street races (and quickly disappearing when the cops showed up) that she was like a 'ghost'. Actually, they'd just pointed at her and shouted 'Ghooooost' when they recognised her a few weeks later at another race. But the name stuck and no one really questioned her on it. She'd always chosen to use random names, common names like Alice or Sarah before then. Ghost, as silly as it was, was a name she could go by constantly. She could make herself known and soon after she started using it, people knew. It got her on the radar of a few people wanting 'services' and they did their very best to find her - even if she made it impossible for herself to be found.
Her real life and her 'crime' life were kept separate, for the most part. The later made the former a little more difficult. Danya became more and more paranoid about people finding her through any means necessary. So she started to avoid all cameras and anything that might keep track of her whereabouts. Staying out of sight in a city was borderline impossible for a good while, until she started to think of it like a drive. Then it was just like looking at a map. She knew where they 'eyes' were and she just slipped by them undetected. After a month, Danya really was a ghost. Even the FBI would have a hard time pinned her down.

The brunette male, the one Danya had mentally nicknamed 'Daddy', had instantly slammed his fists into the countertop of the reception desk when Boss-Lady had stated that there wouldn't be any private audiences. Danya couldn't have denied that her body had flinched at the sudden aggressive bang. It was a loud noise, unexpected and not really called for.

Her eyes had lifted quickly from where they’d been filtering across the faces in the room, and looked straight to the man calling all the attention to himself. She chewed at the inside of her lower lip. With the jolt of fear inside her subsiding, there was a new feeling settling into place. Amusement.

She chewed harshly at the tender flesh of her lip, very much so on the verge of laughing out loud and since big macho men didn't much appreciate being laughed at - and the atmosphere around everyone squished into the tiny space was already tense - Danya figured it would be best to keep her amused reaction strictly within her mind.

Clasping a hand over her mouth, she fazed her giggle fit into a cough with relative ease and didn't seem to attract much, if any, attention from around herself. Good. She wasn't trying to stir anything, it was just hilarious when guys thought they could get what they wanted with a little show or force. Break some shit, throw things around. It anything it reminded her more of a childs' tantrum than a manly show of strength. There were for more interesting and pleasurable ways to show dominance.

Danya glanced to the Boss-lady, she was rocking it. The whole dominance vibe exuded from her with an almost unsettling ease. It was ... erotic.

She scolded herself mentally and tried to remember why she was there, why she'd turned up in the first place. It was for the money and the infamy that would come with pulling off something massive. Nothing to do with sex (... at least not yet).

Then Boss-Lady went and drove the nail into the coffin. She told Daddy to take off his shoes.
Danya slapped a hand over her mouth, her eyes growing large as she bit her lip fiercely behind her palm gripping to her face.
    She'd been doing so well.
The giggles were little at first but before she could get a handle on anything, they multiplied into laughter and the blonde was doubling over to clutch her stomach.

After a moment, and with the laughter out of her system for the most part, Danya pushed herself back up to stand and headed towards the area Boss-lady had pointed out they would be debriefed in. In that moment she passed Daddy and gave him a smirk as she went. "Dangerous things those boots." A single, huffed laugh pushed past her lips as she walked on, calling back as she went. "We'd all feel much safer if you left them out here with the guns and knives and -" She paused, looking at a strange syringe of green liquid. "- and flubber?" The blonde arched a brow and tilted her head slightly. She wasn't going to ask, at least not yet, but her eyes did linger on the young woman who'd left it there.

She walked on and then just before the door, froze. Quickly she back tracked and took out her phone and plopped it on the desk. Danya had absolutely no worries about leaving her phone behind, no one would want to steal that thing. A Nokia 3310. A small brick in other words. But it did what she needed. Calls, texts and snake. It was all she needed and it couldn't be tracked. Perfect. Danya did have another phone, a more up to date one, but she never kept it on her person. It was only used for internet access since lugging around a computer was highly impracticable. She usually kept it in her car, but it was currently in her case, which she'd left back in the room.

Danya pushed off again from the desk area and through to where Boss-lady had pointed for them to go. She stopped in the doorway as she heard the blonde's voice again, speaking to the dirty, young boy who'd said nothing and done nothing but scowl at people since he arrived. Danya loitered for a moment, watching as the woman asked him to remove his scarf. She swung around a moment later and headed on through the doorway, hoping this guy was getting kicked out for being a general prick. Danya had been quiet and observing too back in the room, but she hadn't made an ass of herself doing it - and she didn't stink like some homeless bum, that was always a plus.

Sophia stood back as she watched everyone react to the scene differently. Smart ass comments, hitting things, introducing themselves. And she thought she had a temper, if was clear hers was way better than the grown ass men in her group. Oh well. Sophia moved passed a couple people and patted herself down for the woman in charged before she mumbled "I left everything in my room" she said, before remembering her pocket knife, and dropped it on the desk. The last thing she wanted was for anyone to think she would turn her back against them.

When she heard the girl that had been laying on the bed when she first entered, do a weird cough to cover up a laugh, Sophia smirked at her, she was glad she wasn't the only who found the fact that the grown men kept throwing fits. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Sophia really got mixed feelings about the group. One second they seemed off their rockers, the next they seemed like they would make a good team. She knew she wasn't an exception, but no one seemed to to really do well in this new environment where they had no idea what was going on. She followed the other girl, since she seemed like she was the most level headed and actually present in the group, this was one she could see herself getting along with.

Hell has many meanings and definitions based on someone's life experiences and what they are taught. Jasmine was a product of her environment growing up in a rough area and having unstable parenting. Nothing was stable in her life even leading up to her current situation. "Fuck this.. fuck you.. fuck you.." she panted as sweat poured down her face. Jasmine was going through the height of her withdrawal and it had been terrible up until that point. Now she felt like she wanted to die. The amount she had done before getting on the plane was just under the limit that should have put her in the ICU. Jasmine seemed to have plenty of guardian angels as she escaped death once more.

Now she was staring up at the ceiling as every part of her body hurt and was soaked in sweat. She cursed herself for putting herself in this situation. It was her own doing and she had nobody to blame but herself and her greed and gluttony to want to feel good all the time. While she cursed out everyone around her she was making the first step towards recovery. The detox lasted 5 days and Jasmine had started to gain some hope that she could see a finish to this terrible feeling. While her body was finally getting rid of the drug that had held her mind and body in captivity for many years, she was still struggling with why this was worth her time. Then she remembered the incident before coming to treatment. She shuddered wondering when and if anyone would have found her friend's body. She shook the thoughts from her mind as she had covered her tracks and unfortunately it hadn't been her first time watching someone die in front of her and having to help cover it up.

By the 4th day Jasmine was able to stand and walk around the small detox centre. She began to meet the other residents also waiting to enter treatment once their bodies had detoxed from their drug of choice. It was surprising to Jasmine to meet so many people from different walks of life that were all struggling with similar issues she was. She felt very grateful and soon she was starting to change her mind and view on using and wanting to get high. It was by the final day at detox that she met a man that had come in due to his narcotic and alcohol use. While she didn't know it just yet, but he was a vital employee at the major hotel Jasmine's group was looking to pull off their heist at. Jasmine was quite popular in detox due to her looks with many telling her how lucky she hadn't lost her good looks to the drugs just yet. It was then that Jasmine would show them that her nose had lost almost all cartilage due to the high amount of stuff she had snorted up her nose. It was a weird trick she often showed people, but it was a sad thing recognizing she would never gain back that cartilage in her nose. Makeup also was a heck of an invention and Jasmine was damn good at hiding some of the more tell tale signs of her drug use.

Jasmine phoned Marion by the 5th day and let her know she was still there and about to head into treatment. She disclosed that she had met quite a few people while there already including the man that had mentioned he was very well off. After telling Marion about where he worked Jasmine found it a little odd that she was being encouraged to get to know him more and become good friends with him. Jasmine figured it was mostly due to how highly she spoke of him compared to the other residents she knew not so much about.

That evening she chatted more with the man and got to know him more. He was the registered accountant for the hotel accounts and she was surprised to learn that he was a bit of a workaholic and had even brought his work laptop to treatment in hopes of still getting some work done. He seemed an overly stressed man with little support in his life and little recognition for the hard work her put in. Jasmine's natural flirtatious personality only encouraged him to spill more to her as she rested her head on his chest and ran her hand over his thigh massaging it a little. She could tell he had had little sexual experiences and seemed most were with women like her that he paid to spend time with. Jasmine figured even if she couldn't participate in the heist anymore and this was all about getting an addict clean she could at least try and hook herself into him and try and shackle up with him. It was sad that Jasmine still thought that way, but coming from the ghetto finding stability especially financially was the main goal and at any means possible. Jasmine had a lot to process and still a lot to hopefully hear from Marion helping her understand why it was important that she be at this particular treatment centre.

After Bay sat her items down on the desk, she went back to standing far away from the others. She looked at everyone and sighed. Bay is a pretty antisocial person when she wants to be, but she knows that she has to start socializing a bit with the people in the room. "Just walk up to one of them with one of your famous 'genuine' smiles and play nice. You'll be fine", she thought. "Or maybe you won't. Everyone in this room is a criminal. They can probably read you in a way other's can't. Who fucking knows?", she thought as she looked everyone in the eye.

"Maybe you should try being yourself for once", Bay thought to herself. She looked at everyone again and rolled her eyes. "Fuck it. I don't NEED to play pretend for them", Bay thought. "It'd only be a matter of time before they saw the real me anyway. Might as well speed up the process", Bay thought to herself with a smile.

Jaxson heard he had to take off his boots, did she really think that he would tell her if he was going to use them? She may have a low opinion of him, he was probably only here to provide the transportation. By which, he gets them the cars they need and customizes them to their liking and usability. He could still be of use and this could be easy money for him to collect, so he was going to follow the boss ladies command, he knelt down and untied his boots and took them off leaving them by the desk. Although he did hear the crazy wild eye'd, excited as all hell girl, giggle at him. Although at this point she wasn't hiding it, she was definitely was a little interesting now. He grinned with her comment about his boots.

The loner girl he stood near, closer then anybody else at least, she seemed a little lost in thought, he stood close to her but she didn't really react to him at all, he thought she would walk further away or ask him to move away, but it seemed like she had something else on her mind. Perhaps she was just ignoring him like he did to the model. Speaking of which the model wasn't here, did she leave? He walked over to go to where the boss was, to head to the next room. He walked past Ecstasy, who stopped in the doorway, he was going to sit down in a chair and hear what was going to happen.

So now there was Big Boss, Ecstasy, Model, who seemed to not be joining them, Enforcer, Shy/Loner, maybe he couldn't label her yet, and there was a few others he hasn't put a name to, maybe he would before they even left this piece of shit motel. He still wanted to take a shower, all he did was wash off quickly and put on the cleaner clothes he could find, he was hoping this wasn't going to take long, hell he was hungry as well. He looked around the room, his foot shaking since he was now doing nothing and sitting. The other people out there didn't really impress him a whole lot, even after he tried to see what he could get out of them, just seemed to be some giggling but that seemed like that was it.

Jaxson was waiting to see what this was finally all about.

Nat glanced at Conrad, before looking at Jaxon again. Well. Conrad wasn’t wrong about why there was no private audiences. He also wasn’t wrong to critizise Jaxon for his lack of professionalism.

And Jaxon… seemed to be running through more emotions in a few minutes than Nat herself did in a month, but at least they had taken a turn for the better this time. Even when Danya burst out laughing at him. Nat braced herself for another violent burst, but it seemed like he either didn’t get that he was the butt of the joke, or his aggression had been very shortlived indeed. He even bend down to take off his shoes like she’d asked.

Danya was… not very serious and she only left an old, clunky Nokia-phone at the desk. Nat wasn’t sure if it was a means of communication or a weapon.

Then Danya decisively went to the nearest door and entered the small back-room which currently held a few chairs (it was where Marion and Gerald took their breaks, which meant it smelled like old farts and smoke in there), but it was mostly used for storage. To her dismay both Sophia and Jaxon followed Danya, as did Isaac after a beat.

Bay who was keeping herself apart from the others appeared to be… rolling her eyes and smiling at nothing in partciular.

Nat pushed down a sigh. She’d expected this to be a challenge, but it seemed like she’d underestimated just how much of one it would be. It was a new environment and she’d put them all on edge with how she’d invited them, but the fact that most of them seemed to be seriously floundering wasn’t exactly a promising sign.

“Well,” Nat said and swallowed a sigh, “if you four are done inspecting the supply-closet, could you follow me?”

Without waiting for a reply she began walking towards the meeting-room, which was a couple of doors down. She wasn’t keen on showing it, but Velmas sudden disappearance bothered her.

She had one more surprise for them; Gerald would be waiting inside the meeting-room with a metal detector.

    Trust, but verify.

If they passed that, they could sit down to eat and if they didn’t… well… then they’d all get to see that she wasn’t one to be crossed.

The meeting room was the biggest room in the motel and also the one she’d gotten Marion and her crew to do the most work on. It had originally been two rooms, but after knocking down a wall, washing it down and giving it a new coat of paint it looked light and clean and was a room one could stand to spend some time in. Nat had stayed well away while they ripped off the carpet (which they’d burned out back) and put a new, click-on floor on top of the underlying concrete foundation. Nat knew a little about home-construction, but Marion and her crew knew a lot and she’d seemed to think that they could renovate the motel and actually make it a liveable base for the operation until they moved to the hotel.

The food she’d had George get earlier was spread out at the center of the table together with a stack of plates and cups. She figured she wasn't the only one who'd like something warm to drink.

Nat lead the others into the room and went to sit, but didn’t gesture for the others to do the same.

“If you don’t mind,” she said addressing the room, once everyone was inside and waved a hand at Gerald who was standing at the ready with a handheld metal-detector. Gerald was an old man, and he looked a bit funny what with his Einstein-like hairdo, but he was an old hound and he wasn’t one to be intimidated.

Gerald lifted the machine. “Who wants to go first?” he asked, playing the elderly dimwitted fool. Nat knew him too well to be fooled, but then she’d seen him dispose of bodies, so maybe that was why she had a hard time seeing him as a hapless old man, regardless of his otherwise stellar acting abilities.

Really? A metal detector? Conrad rolled his eyes. Oh well. As a second gesture of good faith, the young man walked toward the metal detector wielding mad scientist looking guy. Conrad had nothing physically to hide so he held his arms out to his side so this show could get underway.

As he stood there, he couldn't help but think that if this was some team the woman in charge was trying to assemble, she must be terribly disappointed. Folks had already bailed, while a few were simply not attempting to play well with the others,

He hoped this was the final hoop he needed to jump through in order to finally get down to business. Once his inspection was over, he casually walked over to Nat, gave her a nod, and stood before her awaiting instructions. Now maybe they were going to get to learn what this was all about.

Danya pushed through the door into the room she’d chosen. There was a couple chairs and a strange, stale and unpleasant smell in the air.
“Wow, this place really is a shit hole.” She mumbled, scrunching her nose up at the smell and turning back to look at the girl who’d followed her. Shower girl - Danya made a mental note that she should probably learn names before she started to actually call these people by the mental names she’d made for them.

Daddy followed soon after and brushed past her to go deeper into the strange smelling room. Danya smirked a little to herself. Well, if he could brave the smell, she would be at least a little impressed with him she supposed.

There was a voice behind her and Danya turned to see Isaac stood close by, it wasn't his voice but the turn had lead her straight into seeing him probably less than a breath away from her. Suddenly the smell in the room didn’t seem as bad. She took a large step backwards from him, not caring if it was obvious - he smelled, even more like a bum now that she was that bit closer to him. Was that an act or did he like never shower, ever, because he smelled of a strange concoction that Danya couldn’t even begin to decipher and surely that couldn’t be a mistake, could it even be intentional? She wasn’t sure which way she would rather have had that question answered.

Boss-lady looked at them with a blank expression and asked if they were done in the supply closet, could they follow her. Danya turned and looked back into the room she was stood a little more pointedly in then. She hadn’t been able to get past the smell before but since it had been pointed out, yes, that room really was a supply closet.
“Well, that should teach you not to follow whoever takes the lead.” Danya smirked and pointed a finger towards Daddy and another at Shower-Girl. She was more making fun of herself than anyone else but Danya had long since given up being embarrassed, so she reverted to humour instead.

Skipping out of the room, she followed after the guy who she’d heard introduce himself as Oliver, into the room Nat had walked into. It was much larger and much cleaner than any other part of the hotel.
The little blonde paused and assessed the room with slightly parted lips and wonder in her eyes. Hell, this room actually looked posh. Was the whole motel a cover and this was what it was supposed to look like? Or was it the opposite way around? Either way, she’d decided that she’d take the seat closest to where Boss-lady was loitering, waiting for them.

Oliver had himself scanned by the strange looking, wild white haired man and Danya was quick to jump into line. She had nothing to hide.
He brushed the wand past the pocket at her right hip and it made a beep. Danya stiffened in shock that maybe she was carrying something she didn’t even know about. Then that washed away and she fished out her car keys, tossing them in the air and catching them again.
“I’m a driver.” She leaned in close to the old guy as she whispered it, as thought it was secret and need to know. She then distracted herself, looking at the keys with scrutiny, pinching the end of the key for the ignition of her car, plucking it up from her palm and she tilted her head to one side in obvious and exaggerated thought. “I didn’t think they were a weapon, but I suppose they could be.” She took the old man’s hand and pushed the keys into his palm, curling his fingers shut around them and she smiled a sickly sweet grin at him. “Don’t ride it too hard.” She didn't give him much time to react to any of this but Danya had a hard time seeing the guy having a shock reaction to anything, he looked old as dust, his reaction times were probably just as stilted.
With a wink that really pushed the joking, sleazy line over the edge, Danya skipped into the room squeezed past Oliver, plopping herself into the chair nearest to Boss-lady. Since she was still standing, Boss-lady could choose to move away but Danya was pretty sure she could whittle away at her, the aloof thing was certainly endearing.

Not a moment after she'd taken a seat, there was another beep from the hand held metal detector.
Mentally, Danya figured it was just another set of keys like her own, but her human interest still pushed her face to turn and look at Isaac stood with the crazy haired man.
The young boy looked frazzled and panicked for a moment and Danya's brow knitted in confusion. Had he really tried to ring something in?
She parted her lips to ask him exactly that, though in a much less politely phrased way, when Isaac suddenly bolted from the room. Danya bounced up from her chair, the legs scratching on the floor in the sudden movement but he was already pushing out the door, past anyone in it and looked just about as much the shifty criminal he was supposed to be. Only, what would he be hiding from a room of other criminals that had been called there to be exactly that?

Sophia looked over everyone as they followed the main girl to a much bigger and nicer room. She had mixed feelings about the first girl. While she seemed like a blast, she also was a little too peppy? No. That wasn't the right word. Oh well. Then there was the pussy, well at least he ended up coming back. He seemed much more confident than he had before. She wasn't sure if she could trust him, or even end up trusting him, a team stayed together. It would take some time. Then there was the girl smiling to herself, she hadn't said much. And if she did, Sophia certianly hadn't noticed. She also seemed a little.... young?

Then homeless boy. He looked familiar, she probably scrapped with him a few times and if not, she probably seen him out on the streets a couple of times, but it was clear he didn't even attempt to take care of himself. But it was easier for a pretty girl to do things than a guy could. She'd have to try to talk to him, and feel him out. And finally, there was Mister Eager. He would definitely be useful, just from the way he carried himself she could tell he was intelligent.

Sophia stood behind the homeless boy and couldn't help but rolll her eyes at girl. When the dector went off, and the boy running, Sophia didnt do anything. It didn't surprise her at all, he was probably planning on trying to take them all or something stupid and desperate. It happened all the time in their part of town. Sophia then let the old man run the metal detector, and was happily surprised when he didn't try to cope a feel. That was new.

No beeps, she wanted these people to trust her. Or at least know she was reliable, she was actually very curious and even a little excited to see what all of this was about. She moved to go grab a bottle of water off the table and moved to go sit on the ground, against the wall, and looked around. "And then there was 5 of us. If anyone else has doubts i say they leave now. The last thing we need is anyone else bailing in the middle of this." She couldn't help but to look over at the man who ran out earlier.

Life is hard, life is harder when the kosmos doesn't deal you a good hand from the start. Dealing with the uphill battle of life on top of all the social stresses it is surprising so many people are still holding it all together. A person like Jasmine simply just tries to survive in life having had no level or stability or direction from older more sensible people. Unfortunately some souls are just meant to be around for a certain period of time possibly helping out society, or not. It was hard for Jasmine to look back at her life and find anything worthwhile about it. Lying, stealing, killing, doing drugs, and doing pretty much anything a person is socially and morally not supposed to do. When you live in survival mode its not easy to take a step back and look at your life and decisions and wonder if it was all for the better.

Sobriety sucks when you have no support, nothing to do and no way of seeing a better side to things. Jasmine only knew one way of life and sitting in a group circle trying to unpack her emotions, thoughts and behaviors just seemed way too stressful and difficult. Shame when someone is put against a bit of a challenge and to see them push it away or try to ignore it. Jasmine was one messed up person and the little she did share seemed to shake plenty of the other residents and staff there. If only they knew what it was like living in chaos all of the time with nobody around for you. It made Jasmine begin to look at her most recent decision to try and find a new crew to join. They hadn't even made it through the introductions and she was already being pushed to go to rehab, and did any of them check in on her? No.. she had to call them and even then she couldn't quite tell if they were all that interested in how she was doing. Jasmine had to recognize that unfortunately nobody in this world was exactly looking out for her, so she needed to do the same and just focus on herself.

She decided not to phone anyone from the group just to see if that would change anything. Jasmine was unfortunately going through a myriad of emotions and thoughts and while she was still young in her recovery, she was still focused on the blaming and everyone else being the problem. Recovery was not exactly going her way and while she had assumed she had tied up every loose end with the death of her friend back at the hotel before coming into rehab, Jasmine was now dealing with nightly post traumatic stress seeing her dead friend at the end of her bed each night. It was hard and Jasmine was not being open about it with her therapist which was making everyone confused why she was screaming each night and struggling to find sleep. Jasmine was becoming a wreak in her sobriety and while she assumed everything was wrapped up the police were starting to try and put the pieces together of the crime scene. It was only a matter of time before Jasmine was caught.

"Well, if you four are done inspecting the supply-closet, could you follow me?”

Bay's smile dropped and she slowly began following the group. She didnt follow closely behind, but not too far either. She kept a good distance. They walked over to a room that had a man that was holding metal detector. Bay looked at the metal detector and rolled her eyes. "This is a bit extra. Or maybe it's not. I don't know these people", Bay thought to herself.

Bay was watching as people walked up to the metal detector. The detector went off twice. Bay was alarmed when she saw a guy run pass her and out the building. She looked at him until he finally disappeared around the corner. She looked back towards the guy with the metal detector.

Bay began to notice some of his physical characteristics and began laughing a little bit at the fact that he looked like one of those mad scientist she'd see on TV that her and her parents use to make fun of (minus a few things). Bay walked up to him with a smile on her face and held her arms out. The guy began to inspect her with the detector and Bay immediately became nervous.

Bay has a habit of carrying a bunch of knives on her person just in case of emergency. She doesn't carry the knives with the intention to kill, she just carries them for protection. Every few weeks, Bay takes her knives and soaks it in this chemical that can temporarily paralyze someone. If Bay ever needs to get away from a situation, that's how she does it.

Bay was anxious as the metal detector hovered over her. This situation felt suspenseful to Bay, but she didn't show it at all. Though she was nervous, she kept her smile on her face. She wasn't worried about whether or not people thought she was a nervous wreck because only two people have been able to see through her smiles and those two people were dead.

Bay was relieved when the metal detector didn't detect anything, but also mad that she was stupid enough not to bring more weapons. Bay smiled at the man and walked in the room. As soon as she got to the farthest corner in the room and sat there, her smile fell. "Fucking idiot", she mumbled to herself.

Jaxson heard the boss lady speak, that this was the supply room. He stood up, looking around. At his shop, his break room looked a lot like this, maybe even smaller, they didn't really use it, just to store lunch or something, but most times they went out, ordered food or just went home to eat. So he wasn't really picky on where they were meeting, but if she had somewhere else in mind, he was going to follow. He walked into the room, seeing the man with the metal detector, he stared at him for awhile.

He thought about what he had that was metal on him, but he knew it would still go off even if he took off and removed all the metal on his person. Jaxson looked towards the boss lady, then his concentration was broken as the Rat ran by him, smelled bad, looked terrible, and was on a scurry for the exit. Jaxson looked back at the man, watched as people got check over. He heard someone say something about leave now, they don't need someone bailing, he looked at the girl, on the ground, staring at him. He gave her a questioning look. Does she think he is going to leave next? It was an interesting comment, perhaps she just doesn't like him with his behavior.

Jaxson walked over. "One second, I have to show trust before I say something." He took off his belt, it had a metal buckle, took off a watch, took out his car keys, shop keys, and his wallet. "Alright, go ahead." He waited, hearing it beep around his body, around his shoulders, his back, his arm, his ass, and his legs. He laughed as it happened. "Okay, so I guess you wouldn't know this, but jacking cars isn't safe." He looked at the Boss, lifting up his shirt, turning to point to a scar patch on his shoulder, he also now was exposing most of his body which showed other scars, even though nothing beeped. "This one was a '86 Camaro , dude rushed out as I was hoping in, he had a shotgun, buckshot shredded through the car, some pieces of metal and such went into my skin and bone. Obviously can't show up at a hospital to explain what happened. So do the best I can with certain other doctors." He pulled his shirt back down. "So can I stay or do I need to get going?" He walked over to the table, looking at the food, he grabbed a bottle of water, grabbing some chips to eat. Waiting to hear what she had to say while he fed his hunger.

Nat watched the different people in the group roll their eyes and generally think it was too much. She supposed they’d never been at a meeting with criminals before. At least not one that had gone south in a fast way. She had. And she didn’t much like being surprised by getting a gun stuck in her face, when she said something someone didn’t like. Or when someone thought that intimidation was the way to go. Several of the people in the room had already tried that route; Sophia when she checked in, Daniel later with the others, Jaxon had destroyed her table in a fit of rage… Did people actually want to be in a room with armed people with hair-trigger tempers?

But even worse than suddenly getting a gun - or a knife - to the face; finding out too late that someone was wearing a wire.

As long as they did as she asked, though, they could keep the attitude.

Besides, though she’d tried to weed out people with connections to the people they were aiming to rob, they had a far reach and she knew that though it was rare for them to be connected to no-bodies, there was always the chance of a random, personal connection.

Danya seemed to think it funny and even Gerald raised a brow at her over the top flirting.

Then Isaac ran out, and Nat’s pulse skyrocketed though she took care not to move a muscle. Marion and the rest would catch him before he got too far.

Sophia made a little comment and side-eyed Jaxon something fierce. In the privacy of her own mind Nat agreed - honestly what was it with this group? Had she gone incompetent in her ability to choose people over night?

She did wonder why on earth Sophia had sat down on the floor though.

Bay had been acting borderline hysterical and more than a little unstable and then she went and sat down. In a corner, muttering all the while.

“Speak up if you have something to say Ms. Diamond,” Nat told her. She was beginning to wonder if she’d made a mistake; maybe the girl really was too young. Either way it was beginning to look like she wouldn’t be able to do what Nat had hoped she would.

Would she really have to tell people to sit at the table like adults?

Daniel, who’d gone uncharacteristically quiet while he’d followed them all, sighed when it was his turn and like Jaxon (who’d pretty much done a strip-tease) he began to take off stuff that’s set off the alarm. Did they think she’d throw them out over keys and belt-hoops?

She ignored Jaxons comment about staying and going; he hadn’t waited for a response before starting to eat her food, so she figured it was rethorical.

While Jaxon did that, Daniel put an extra gun at the table and bent down and took of two more knives of his person. “Can’t blame me for not wanting to go in unarmed,” he said, trying a smile, but he looked tense still.

“Can’t blame me for not wanting you in here armed,” Nat answered, while she considered if she should throw him out on principle. If he’d made her discover the weapons herself she would have.

Gerald finished the sweep of Daniel and took the weapons with him out the door, leaving keys and other small metal pieces on the table.

Then with a small nod to Nat, he left the room.

“Please have a seat,” she said, “at the table, if you’d please.”

They hadn’t gotten much further than that before George came in with an Iphone held out to Nat. He was looking at the crooks in the room with what appeared to be a mix of apprehension and curiosity.

She took the phone and read the messages from Marion on the screen.

Caught Isaac Ashworth on his way out the door.

    He’s wearing a recording-device.

Doesn’t appear to be connected to anyone.

Confirmed: there’s no one at the other end of it. Seems to have been collecting evidence. We found a wire as well, when we searched him, but it appear to have been damaged by water.

Seems you were right to worry about moles.

    Nat thought for a moment, then;

Keep him here for now. See what you can find out about him. Who he’s recording for.

    Find Velma Greene.

Nat handed back the phone to George once she’d received an affirmative, who promptly left the rom. They couldn’t keep Isaac with them for too long in case someone came looking. And it seemed like the motel wasn’t a safe base of operation anymore.

Marion looked at the simple texts (orders) she’d received back from Nat.

Then she pocketed the device and looked back at Isaac. He was tied to a chair in front of her, bleeding lightly from a head-wound, half-naked and shaking with an indeterminable mix of fear and rage. She’d had to stuff a sock in his mouth (his own) to make him shut up, he’d been very busy spewing vitriol that made it clear that he barely considered any of them to be real people.

Nat didn’t say, that if it seemed like anyone - law-enforcement or otherwise - was gonna come knocking to let her know. Marion figured that sort of went without saying.

“Take the thing out of his mouth,” she told her husband. “Let see if we can’t make him say something useful.”

He tried to bite Geralds fingers, and then he started hollering.

Gerald just laughed. “Scream as loud as you want,” he said, “no one can hear you.”

Conrad sat down at the table and waited. It was obvious to him that Nat or whomever had attempted to gather them together must think they had selected the.worst crew of misfits ever assembled. Their host or hostess had gone out of the way I ensure a private and secure meeting, now he only wanted to know why.

He was more than confident in his own abilities, but surely these other folks must be useful in some way in the grand scheme of things or they wouldn't be here. Conrad sat upright in the chair and spoke to Nat, "You've got us on the edge of our seats,ma'am. Would you mind if we helped ourselves to some refreshments?" _

Everyone seemed to watch Isaac bolt from the room but do nothing more than that. Then again, what would they have done since he was already out the door and disappearing back into the lobby before anyone had a chance to ask him what the hell was up.

Danya diverted her gaze the Boss-Lady, who seemed unfazed, and then to the crazy haired man with the handheld scanner, he looked just as blank in the face as Boss-Lady. Okay, so no one cared - good enough for her. Danya replaced herself in her seat and locked eyes on the handheld scanner in the elder man’s hand, giving her every excuse to let her gaze roll slowly over every nook and cranny of each person’s body without looking like the complete and utter pervert she was. Well, she never really cared about looking like a pervert but watching him run that paddle over their frames meant that every person was stood, fully on display when the wand was washed over them. It gave a beautiful show at least.

There was a comment from the corner of the room, where the girl who’d gone after her to get scanner over, had sat down. Danya didn’t pay much attention to it, though she agreed with the statement. It would be a royal pain in the ass if they leaked many more ‘team members’ because they at least needed a skeleton team to pull this thing off .. whatever this ‘thing’ was.

Boss-Lady asserted her dominance in the room again with a simple comment and Danya’s gaze drew away from the methodical beeping wand over to the blonde who still stood relatively close beside her. Her skin prickled and her pupils dilated slightly as blood rushed through her system.

Oh yes, this woman was hot and Danya really liked the way she controlled a room, all the people in it, and everything that was said under her watch. She could play the ghost - as shown when she was sat in the reception and no one took any notice - and the big boss - like right then and there where everyone was bending to her will without a second thought about it.

With a soft sigh, Danya turned her gaze back to where Einstein was ensuring everyone was clean in time to see the big guy - Daniel - getting his once over. She looked to the table as he spoke to Boss-Lady and marveled at the extra guns and knives the guy had been stashing about her person. Wow - maybe she’d have to think about packing something, other than car keys on her person with this lot around.

She thought about that for a second before physically shaking the idea from her head. She didn’t want to have to shoot someone (or learn to even shoot) and she certainly didn’t want to be on the other end of a blade when it was sliced into warm flesh - even the thought made her feel physically sick.

Nope, death and gore and all the brutality of the seedy criminal side of life wasn’t for her, she just wanted to drive fast and so that was what she would do. Ghost. It was what she was good at, so why change things?

This thought had kept her mind occupied whilst the last of the group shuffled through the wand wave of detection and took their seats around the room. Danya only really came back to reality when the image of a sweet young boy drifted past her gaze.

She looked up, eyeing the boy who was eyeing all of them in return, and then over to Boss-Lady as she read what appeared to be a message on the phone he’d handed over before typing something in reply and handing it back to him.

Danya’s interest was peaked. She couldn’t help it, what was that about? Was it about Isaac? Was it about their job? Was it about all of them sat in that room? Was this really all a set up and blondie had just called in the back up using a kid? She doubted that last one but it didn’t stop the thought from pricking at her heart and getting the blood to pump a little faster around her body. She glanced to the door for a second, waiting for the panel to be kicked down with unnecessary force but nothing ever came.

Instead blondie boss turned her eyes back to the table and to the people at it, like nothing had happened. Danya quirked a brow, the edges of her lips tugging up at the sides.

This was going to be fun. She liked guessing games and chasing, and this woman was certainly one to hide and dodge till she was held down and forced to confess - or was Danya just making up storylines for a personal porn in her head?

She smiled a little more, mostly to herself, and leaned forward to snatch a bottle of water from the table. She cracked the seal and unscrewed the cap before pressing the rim of the bottle to her lips and taking three long gulps. Pulling the bottle back from the intimate kiss, she looked back up to their new boss.

“So, Boss-Lady, like that one said-” Danya hooked a thumb over to point at the man who’d said they were all on the edges of their seats. She didn’t much care about the food - though she would certainly eat it without complaint - but his first point was certainly valid. “-I can hardly contain myself. You going to keep us guessing, or let us all in on why you’ve brought us here.” She smirked, eyes washing over the table and all the things that had been set out and prepared for them. “It’s a beautiful spread and all, but I doubt it’s just for a dinner party, right?” Danya reached out a hand and grabbed a palm full of whatever was closest to her - she wasn’t a picky eater - before falling back to slouch in her chair, popping bite sized pieces into her mouth as she lingered a gaze back up to the boss in anticipation of what was to come next.

Sophia stood up a d grabbed the seat closest to her, she didnt do very well around so many people, which honestly made her a little relieved when people started to leave, and she tried to avoid being so close to everyone as much as possible. Her temper flared more so around others. She relaxed in her seat, as much as she could, and took a big drink of her water, as she eyed everyone around.

She liked the main lady. She knew how to command a room. Definitely would make a god ring leader for this possible heist or whatever. She was kind of excited to learn about whatever she had planned for all of them. Then, she looked around the room at the few people in here and tried to put a possible role on everyone, but she didn't know anyone good enough. Well except Pussy and the man who cussed her out earlier would make great muscle. Pussy may even be a driver? Hmm. And the guy who found the cameras may be the brains?

She turned her attention back to the woman and reached out to pull a bowl of chips closer to her, her stomach growling. She began to eat while pulling her legs in the chair, trying to get comfortable. "Aight boss. You have my full attention." She said
